Duct adaptors ok to use?

I want to upgrade my inline fan from a 4inch 170 cfm to a bigger,better 6inch model.
Can I use 6 to 4 inch adaptors on the fan to use my 4 inch ducting thats all in place(and fits on my hood)? Thanks.

Yeah that is exactly what I do. Just make sure you know if you need crimped ends or not.

I am using a 6" to 4" duct adapter to cool my 4" reflector. Using a 6" 435cfm fan. I just use duct tape to attach the adapter to the fan.
