during flowering ,in dark periods ,should you close the tent lower intake flaps also for full darkness or should you leave them open for air circulation?

You need air circulation even when their in a dark period, you need it make them light proof!

Get some metal foil ducting and run that through the hole and pull the cords tight, if you leave a 12inch hanging outside then no light will be able to get in, and that should sovle the problem.

Peace

those flaps will more than likely allow too much light to get in during dark period, unless it is in a room that is toyally dark. if not then, yes you should be closing them when the lights go off or your plants can hermie! but you still need to exchange the air in the room when the lights are off so that your plants get fresh air, if you dont have fresh air exchange when the lights are off it wont kill your plants but it wont be a healthy environment for them.

what i would do is, not mess with the flaps at all! theres no way your gonna be able to remember to close them every single day on time! do what was previously suggested, get some ducting and run it out of 1 or 2 of the holes in the tent. like mentioned before make sure its atleast a foot or more long and also bend/place the ducting so it has a 90 degree bend in it, this will make it so light wont be able to get in or out, enough light to cause a problem anyways. goodluck

just saw the pic of the tent you have???? get some ducting and get creative it's not too hard an obstacle to figure out. play around with the ducting for an hour or so and you should be able to come up with somethin.

main thing is, without any ducting in your hands to work with your just gonna drive yourelf nuts tryin to think of what to do! trust me i went through the same thing, it's all trial and error buddy

yes ,i have ducting at the exhaust fan ,up but that won't help much since i m ventilating in the same room.I decided to cover the flaps all around the tent with a loose ,pitch black material ,cover them so i would let air in .....but not light. The ten is in my room and it gathers enough co2.

what size light is in there?

is the light in an air-cooled hood?

does the tent have 3 - 5 inch intake exhaust ports?

I'll tell ya right off the bat that your main problem is that the tent that you have is designed to be used for keeping mother plants and/or cuttings in, not flowering plants out!

not saying your screwed, but it's gonna take some engineering on your part to make it suitable for what your trying to do with it.

150 watts of light cfl i keep a cooler on them ;.............bathroom fan as exhaust ,that should move 95 cubic meters/h (though i connected it with the neutral wire and it turns less and makes less noise) .
I m still optimistic though.....I ve seen people growin great buds in worst conditions that i have ,and as for the light .....when growin outdoors for example in the night ,the plants will still get to see some moonlight during flowering ,why don't they all become males then?
