Orchid Plus Fertilizer

I just purchased a bag of Orchid Plus Water Soluble Orchid Food by Better Gro. NPK is 20-14-13. It also says there is only Nitrate Nitrogen and not Urea. Does this sound like a good vegetative stage fertilizer for my "soil-less mix" plants? (it also has "essential minor elements" including: Magnesium, Boron, Copper, Iron, Manganese, Molybdenum, and Zinc.)

I wouldn't recommend it. Your P levels are too high with that stuff, in order to give it enough nitrogen you will probably poison it with P, locking out other nutrients. You also have no idea how they pH'd it, it may be way too high or low for cannabis, orchids are very finicky plants.

Better to go with an all around cannabis growth fert like general hydroponics maxigrow (can be used for soil). Or Foxfarm growbig

Yeah, I wouldn't use that since it sounds like it's used for flowers, and not for MJ.

Always use things which are designed specifically for weed. I would check out Advanced Nutrients too since they have some great nutes for soil.

Good point, orchids are really finicky. And while MJ is too, orchids are just not the same plants, as far as I can tell.

Good question here.

Old post I know, however I have successfully used the brand of fertilizer that you are using for the veg stage of my plants. Better Gro Orchid is what it's called, make sure you adjust the pH down just a tad if you are using 7.0 water, tap water signifigantly more (if your tap water measures in the 8.4 like mine does)

Start off light with this stuff, then build up to a full dose of 1 teaspoon. I grow in hempy pots so they are fairly self flushing, you might have issues if you have a res. or whatever the other guys are doing out there these days.

I give it 2 thumbs up, it's cheap, it's available and it leaves no paper trail. That's 3 marks of excellence in my book.

If you are going local, you might try Green Light Bloom Booster, you'll hear alot of trash talk about it, just make sure to add some crushed lime (cal/mag) if you see any nute issues. Again, start light and build up.
