DMT Extraction Guide: Questions

What up yall,

Alright guys so I've been wanting to try this drug for a long time, but I always told myself that it would come when it'd come. Well it's definitely not something common in this area, but recently I've been researching and found out that DMT can be extracted from different barks/roots. These roots are readily accessible online without legal hassle as they are technically not illegal.

So this could be in to try this drug, but of course now I need to tackle the extraction process. And I thought by maybe opening this up to those experts out there that have tried this procedure, you could have a common point to share this with the community. This extraction process is something I haven't seen on these boards too much, so I thought this might pique people's interests.

so here are my questions and concerns:

This process still viable? Has anyone used this before? Are there any other ways/methods other than this or that modify this guide?

Next question is which bark to use. It looks like [FONT=arial,helvetica][SIZE=+1]Mimosa hostilis root [/SIZE][/FONT][FONT=arial,helvetica](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimosa_hostilis)[/FONT][FONT=arial,helvetica][SIZE=+1] [/SIZE][/FONT][FONT=arial,helvetica][SIZE=+1]has the highest DMT content at about 0.9%. Does anyone have a good suggestion for any vendors online that are legitimate?

And please any one else that has other questions or reference please feel free to post.

negative, bad tek for a beginner, look for a STB (straight to base) tek on mimosa hostilis .

Hey thanks to both of you for getting back to me. So now I'm reading about the general overview of the STB (straight to base) technique and I have a few more concerns. Here is the overview http://wiki.dmt-nexus.com/Straight-To-Base_Extraction.

One of my main concerns for this whole process is, with all these different chemicals needed to extract the DMT chemical from bark, I feel that unless I completely nail the extraction, I'm going to have remnants of these chemicals (lighter fluid, lye, etc.) in my final product which is worries me because I don't generally like the idea of smoking lye.

The method that I posted prior, though a lot more labor intensive seems to have the payoff of leaving the pure clear/whitish DMT crystals, not yellowed by residual chemicals and plant material.

Have either of you guys tried the STB method, and if so how was the yield?

ANC, I really like the guide you linked in your last post. The one you put together yourself, the only thing I had questions on was at what point did you use the skinny necked bottle? Is my thinking in correct in assuming that I can use mason jars for basically all the liquids besides when I need to let the stuff crystallize?

EDIT: ANC, do you recommend on online resource for ordering the roots?

What is the shipping status on Mimosa Hostilis root into the United States? Looks like Bouncing Bear is out and I'm looking at eBay. Is the inner bark the only useful part? Some of these ebayers look shady...haha

Yo one more question about this. How crazy is the exothermic reaction that happens when the lye/bark is mixed in the water?

And what kind of jar is best for the shaking and burping? Any ideas for something that will offer a tight seal but still can be quickly opened to burp the gas?
