my plants are 3 wks. Im still using cfl and fixin to go into flowering stage and will be switching to 150 watt hps in 1 more wk. i dont know whats really going on here. Please help. the leaves are like crowding themselves and folding into a v and twisting but only on two of the stems as you can tell. anyone know whats up?

...I've seen plants twist naturally ( we thought atleast) with new growth....and, I've seen pH swing twist. IMO, try to keep your pH in good range, keep watching your plants they should straight'n up for ya.
Do they look pretty healthy to you bro? and whats the best way i check for ph? this is my first grow.... would it be ok to water with nutes every other day and use regular water in between? im using foxfarm growbig nutes 6-4-4

^ you should probably wait at least 2-3 days between waterings(depending on pot weight) and only feed every other watering. Ya they look healthy maybe a little too green(over nitrogen) but could be the lighting

ya i started on nutes 1 wk ago so i think thats why they are so small. i think it may be time to put hps on them. whatcha think bro? i still have 1 15 watt cfl on them...lol... my buddy told me to vegetate them for 3 wks on cfl. my hps will be here soon thanks dude
I bought a soil ph tester and although I'm sceptical about its accuracy it does tell me when its off. I don't fertilize every other day usually once weekly or when the leaves begin to lighten slightly. Also, try to water your plant thoroughly and then let the pot get light (but don't let it get to the point where they droop from lack of water). This will help you avoid root rot. Dolomite lime is a good way to stabilize ph in soil. I have used it before sprinkled on top of the soil and watered in but I was thinking of dissolving it in water and applying that way. I posted it in another thread as a suggestion so I'll keep you updated on what responses I get. Hope this helps.

no soil experience here, but yea it is important to know the ph of your soil and the water going in.
Leaf cupping is sometimes a sign of over fert, but that is usually accompanied by burnt/yellow tips. When there are no burnt tips, the problem could be heat/moisture stress. The plant could be trying to transpire water into the air faster than it can replace it.
Ask the basics...
Are my lights too close
do they have air flow
is heat blowing on them from the light
is the humidity correct
am I over watering, drowning the roots

...hey man, I've been through top of the line electronic pH meters (Bluelab, milwaikee < however you spell it) ...and by far, BY FAR.... they are a total pain in the ass, with constant doubt in them, you'll be calibrating them everyday. After a couple of years fighting these damn meters, I decided to go with the old school liquid test kit...and I'll be damn!.....I've never had a pH issue, doubt or concerns. General Hydroponics has a liquid pH test kid that is bullet proof unless your color blind...don't piss away your money like I did man....good luck.

....ummmm, yeah, and you'll want your soil to be pH'd at 6.3 - 6.8 ....anything over 7 causes lockout....as does anthing under 6 (in soil)

...as you can see , Iron starts to get locked out at the high 6's ....and Cal. & Mag. drops off around 6.
...the exact name for the liquid pH kit, is General Hydroponics, they color code the ph balance indication, I stick with yellow in color water ( low 6's) . Any hydro store will have it (or should have)...you an find other name brands at pet stores (fish tanks) ...walmart...exc....

But as I'm sure you can see as well, Iron and all the others are still absorbed up to and beyond 7.5 PH. Now, I agree with you, but I was merely giving a general guide line for GOOD cannabis growth. If you want GREAT cannabis growth you would look at that chart and many other charts and information and probly wouldn't need to ask anyway.
