hey CG on the first page the plant "monster" that you got 4 and 3/4's can you tell me some grow specs on that.
if its a bother you dont have to
1. how tall was it when you enter flowering?
2. What nutes cycle did you use? (i see you were following fox farm) wasnt sure if you were on this grow.
3. did you trim away all of the small branches and leaves like you did in your last soil grow?
4. what size pot were you using.
5. how many plants/lights? watts?
Good afternoon Brainfreeze
Sure, here is the recipe.
1=18" veg heighth
2=veg>Half teaspoon per gallon every 3rd watering Peters 20-20-20(dont make it anymore) try Jacks Professional.
Flowering>1/2 teaspoon per gallon every 3rd watering of Peters blossom booster10-52-10
3=Trimmed all the small branches, including fan leaves that obstructed bud sites.
4=Used narrow 7 gallon pots
5=1 plant under a son agro 430 watt hps.
That picture of the Monster(first plant I ever grew) won a photo contest at cannabis culture, and a spot in High Times magazine
It was great!!! I felt that I could do even better crossing the unknown Indica Monster strain with a Brother Grimms Cinderella 99 Sativa, and thats how my "Glass Slipper" strain was started. It is loved by anyone who smokes it.
Its been around the world
The Cinderella 99 is still one of the best strains out there..Very potent. High thc output.. It has been labeled as the "Holy grail"
Very frosty, and wont send you to the slammer because of the odor.
Basically its like this, If you want yield dont overcrowd your plants.
The less # plants under a light will give you bigger yields.
The Peters brand of fertilizer is some amazing stuff.
The biggest plants Ive ever grown was with that low dollar fertilizer.
I may even go back to something similar if Im not happy with the dwc buckets.
But, so far Iam a happy camper running hydro... But, I may change the Fox farms for a chem fert in the future,we'll see.
Organics fert. does not yield as much as a chemical fert, Thats a straight up fact, been there, done that.
But, you gotta have the high wattage and the right ventilation to make it work.
And you got to be careful with overdoing anything chemical.
I have found out that Organic nutes can be pumped up as high as 3300 ppm with the strain I put together.
Aint too many strains out there that will put up with that much nutrient.
If I grew Just a couple of Glass Slippers under my 1k light they would be simply enormous.
The last grow I grew out i believe 21 under my 1000, it yielded ok, but for the number of plants, I felt it could of been alot better.
But, like i said earlier, plant count is just a number, and it will not yield more because of the crowding going on.
I see too many people wanting to grow 12 plants under a 600 watter for instance, and its ridiculous!!
Under my 1k light I would say 8 is maximum and thats with a light mover.
My next grow will be only 6 and it should yield at least 4 oz's a plant or Im doing something very wrong.
The grow after the next will be 4 Northern Lights #5's and 4 of my Glass Slippers..should be probably the best grow yet.
The fox farm has done me justice, but Iam thinking on going back to chemicals and using something like General Hydroponics or something like it.
The organic thing is basically for tree huggers, and alot of it is hype. Especially if your an advanced Nutrient User.
Conclusion. Some of the best plants Ive ever grown were grown out using chemicals, and the price tag was like $5.00 a grow instead of like $ 200 A grow that Im spending now.. Thats just for the nutes, mind you. That does not include electricity or c02.
The Dwc bubbler setup is most definetely the fastest growth Ive ever seen. And with possibly the chem nutes we will have the best yield EVER.
Its all about experimenting.
And after 10 years plus, I have not got it dialed in all the way.
One day I will
So far, if your looking for yield, nothing beats a chemical grow, and it doesnt taste bad at all if you dry out the bud fully, and cure for at least 2 weeks.
Ive never believed in flushing the last 2 weeks, buds need the nutes at the time, or yield suffers.
My bud is always very tasty, and has never had a chemmy taste ever.
Anyways, I rambled on maybe too much, but I thought Id fill you in on the real deal.
Hope I helped you out some.
Take care, anymore questions, you know where Im at
