my plant died =(

hello, im new at here and wanted to ask something, i hope someone can help me.

i was the lucky owner of a little devil feminized 4 months old plant, she was very happy and showed no problems at all. always green and healthy.
i live in central mexico in poza rica veracruz, weather is always hot and humidity always up 100 %.

i used a home depot flower soil mixed with some perlite in a bucket and put every 2 weeks a fertilizer ( miracle grow's little blue sticks) and pour from time to time mineral water in the leaves. i have 4 fluoros to that plant and trying to maintain 25 degrees C

i used all the time bottled water for her. i am trying to build a hydroponic system so it becomes autosufficient eventually cause i have to travel each week for 2 or 3 days because of my work.
everything was working fine except that lately i got a severe flood into the bucket, soil was super muddy as you can see in the picture, i left home for 2 days as always, the pictures are from that thay and 2 days after that i come back and found my plant like that.

im not sure what was wrong, i wish to avoid that in the future so i really need your help.

is it because of the flooding?
maybe the fan was not working during those days?( maybe an electric shutdown?)
i used only that day tapered water but my clones are good and they received same water.

the end of the leaves is something like crushy .
im gonna check if the root is not rotten.

and last question, i got some clones out of that plant, they are doing good. but... as this species is autoflowering and clones keep same age stage of the mother, is it good to do clones? are they not going to lose power or soemthing ?

Tough luck with that plant man. She looked really nice. I would definitely say that this was because of over-watering. The plant looks drowned for sure and the roots probably are rotten. In the future it would be a good idea to drill holes in your containers and have a drip tray to catch excess water which would at the very least help in a situation like this. As for your clones, I really have never heard of anyone cloning an autoflowering species before. It's one of those things you just don't normally do so I have no idea what will happen to your cuttings. But if the mother was 4 months old already are you SURE it's an auto strain? By my own experience with these plants she should have flowered by now. Best of luck in any case and hopefully things will work out.

:joint:i plant it on december, maybe i didnt allow it to grow as it supposed to, it was my first plant and im learning everyday a lot about it that i didnt know before.

so now i beleive i was too irresponsible cause i saw it was drowned but i tought i was gonna be fine within some days.

i ordered by mail form UK so i dont have many seeds and i wanted to harvest some but eventually, so i got some clones, they have already white hairs on them and this plant had a lot of withe hairs beneath the leaves( i think u cant see them on the photos but they where there) i could have done wrong in some things and that slowed its growth, maybe?.

so whats ur advice if u want to preserve an autoflowering plant? thanks

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to keep an autoflowering plant alive beyond it's normal lifespan. This is an interesting question though and I will look into it. There may be a way but if so it's probably something chemical that has to be done to the plant and I'm an organic grower/breeder so it kind of goes against my philosophy but it never hurts to educate ones self. As for your plants, just keep trying and keep asking questions. Everyone has to start somewhere but you'll get it figured out in time.

my first grew hermied on me and 8 plants went tit's up, just keep growing and learning buddy, never let it get to you.

You dont want too much water near the root's unless it is highly oxegenated water. I am sure there is a few spelling mistakes there.

Just another thing, if you are struggling with over watering go for coco or DWC it is nearlly impossible to over water with these methods.

They have home depot in Mexico? Lol pick up a probe that goes in the soil and it will tell you the moisture level and usually it has a second function to check the soil ph as well. They arn't expensive and it will keep you from over watering

It may be that the light was way apart from the plant, it may be overwatering, and the plant may have just caught a disease. Hope your clones go well though, goodluck.

thanks everyone and yes we have home depot sams club wall mart i even have in my little town a peter piper pizza i saw it when i was living on texas and now is here lol
