OK so I checked on the new good leaves and they are burning up for real much more now. The ppm drifted up to 400 I never added any nutes.

Should I change the water out completely? I started with a 36 gallon res, drained some out when PPMS were to high and added back some; totalling 24-30 gallons now so I was planning on changing the res out anyways...

Shitty, I am guessing I need to change out the water and keep them near 200 ppm if they are still going up at 300?

Any advice?

Go back and read my first post in this thread.

I'd say you need to read up on basic reservoir maintenance:

Simply said, start with 36 gallons, add appropriate nutrients and adjust pH.

Regularly add plain water to your res as the full-level drops. When you've added back 36 gallons, it's time to change the res.

That's it! No need to worry about your nute strength, it's all taken care of for you. You can look at that on future crops.

In your buckets, the plants need time to put down roots. As long as your plants look healthy, they will grow as best as they can. Sometimes when putting down roots it appears that growth stops. It doesn't.

Your watering schedule is fine for these small plants.

Have fun

are they showing any signs of sex yet?
I would hope not under 18/6?

Unless I am very confused I am under the impression you cant sex them until during the flowering?

They are however showing signs of burning the fuck up.

I dont understand how that is happening...

I am soo very close to tossing these fucking in the dumpster and starting over.

This post also confuses me as this is the advise that I have been following.. Thats why I mentioned that I have added back 24 gallons. I am aware that you swap out the res after you have added back what you started with. Thats why I am confused, seems like you just posted exactly what I am doing so then where is the neglect?

The biggest plants do have roots now going right into the bottom bucket so the root system is in place.. Big phat white roots coming out the bottoms of the buckets 2- 4 of them.

Im gonna followup with another post

I changed out the res; dumped old and added new water 32 gallons. I plan on doing this again on Sunday. I mixed the nutes to 275 ish and the PH was 5.6 ish. 3-2-1 GH nutes.

The plants are looking more and more like bigger versions of the older ones before I came on here. Alot of yellow leaves and brown crispy edges. Tips curling up and down; its very disapointing.

I have put a spreadsheet I have been keeping track of my res with. I hope this helps shed some light onto something I might be doing wrong.

What I have been doing is getting the res to ph 5.5 ish and letting it float up to 6.1 ish. PPM just trying to keep around 300.

Thanks,
BL

Surge for real man.. I like that.

I dont have good seed.. funds are drying up. I have a bunch of bag seed but I never planned on growing bag weed.

I will try one more week. I think if anything I was neglecting calibration of my shity PH pen. I plan on caling it every other day til I get a better one. I also think the nutes were roasted and the new water is helping.

I wanna grow one more week, Changing the res out again on Sunday thats just two days from now. Then switching to the 2-2-2 next week; start flowering the following Sunday and see what the rest of these do. Some are 11 inches. Roots look very healthy thick and white, fat too in the bottom buckets... In TheGreenThumbs diary this is where he bumped up his nutes. I dont plan on it though cause the burning.

So thats kinda my plan.. Hope the smallest ones rebound the most they can this week and then try to bud them.

I cut off some bigger fan leaves that are blocking the light from the under growth. In addition leaves that were 50%+ or more burt up. Thats why they look like palm trees. ?:?:

Notice the leave curling and the tip and edge burns!! Whats causing that stuff? Overwatered still? They seem to burn more after I water the rockwool which I am doing 2 x week.

dude they look fine in the pics,

just keep doin what your doin

make sure you are giving them gro formula too

why not just fill all the buckets with water and put an air stone in each one:mrgreen:

and keep the watter touching up to the huge rockwool cube

man those cubes are the source of all the problems but once the plants are bigger compared to the cubes thingas wll prolly get better

also i wouldnt recomend clipping any fan leaves as all

specially now they are still small

i think they will grow way more quikly if you fill up the buckets and put air stones in them,

my clones go from like 3" clones to 14" plants in one week somtimes 1 or 2 weeks for sure

once they go into flower they will do the most of thier growings.

when are you gonna start flowering them?

so you decided to grow bonsai bud plants ;)
Caz what do you mean by this? Obviously I have seen the Karate Kid and know what the tree looks like. Are you saying my plants wont stretch, or branch out? I guess I just dont get what you mean by that?

I am under the impression that once they are "seduced" into flowering they will grow and stretch again harder?

I started germing 20 or so bag seed beaners. I am going to use a modified approach with this set.

Mean time flower these and if nothing else everything I have done is educational to some degree. I plan on doing this til I Die or get caught or quit smoking which I think the first two will happen before the third.

So thats what I am thinking now...

Thanks,

Cheers

I mean no harm or disrespect. In my experience, if plants get too much abuse and stay stunted to long they never fully recover and are always under producers. I'm not saying they won't come around but if I had the choice I'd start over. No reason to spend 8-12 weeks, burning lights, dumping ferts, spending time to tend to the weak. I took some clones when we first started talking and I just started to flower the other day. After a few days rest from trimming my harvest. I'm not trying to rub it in I'm just saying your getting good advice here from big p and potroast and your working with damaged goods. Seems like you have it now but you won't know unless you give it a start with some healthy girls. If you want to use rockwool use some smaller cubes and flush and Ph them well first, don't over water early on. Get a good Ph pen and calibrate it regularly and recheck your tap water. Get the water report from your local water co. might be online. Check and alter Ph only after all nutes are mixed in and res is at normal temps. Temp will alter Ph readings...... I could go on and on.... Your plants will bud out and might even be some nice smoke but your yields will be down. It will only get better from here. You might as well take the advice of Big P and turn at least one bucket into a DWC you never no it might be the ticket and it might take off. And you'll learn something too. And you have his attention. And and adnandnas dqalk;cvbbbb zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Caz gotcha, yes all valuable points I am at this point aware of..

I have airated water in my res. In addition when I lift up the buckets the bottom one with the water is laced with millions of bubbles on the wall and floor of the buckets so I am pretty sure the buckets have alot of air available.

I dont know if you saw but I started another bag batch to learn from and see what it beholds. I will order some good medical female seeds soon for the 3rd batch.

I am going to be going to the store today to buy some stuff for my new vegging area. I am gonna be buying and installing some Floros. Any advice on what I should have? I was thinking 3 or 4 of those 2 bulb set like hanging lights. 2 Blue 1 or 2 red spectrum depending on if I get 3 or 4 of them. I want about 200 watts does that sound abount right?

Lots of choices in floros.
Budget floros = hardware store and shop floro fixture and some 6500K Daylight White Color or a mix of spectrum lights.
Or
More expensive route T-5 high output floros.
Or
CFL's 125W+

It's your choice. I'd go with the first one for now. You'll always be able to use it some where and it only costs $9 - $15 for the fixture and $4 a bulb.

I ended up going with some T5HO a 2' 4 bulb 2 cool 2 warm setup for now (8000K).

In addition I also got my scrubber and intake. Its to loud so I ordered the fan speed adjuster and plan on turning it up when they come.

Also I AM THINKING ABOUT TURNING THE SWITCH ON THESE AND FLOWERING. They are looking better and I just am ready since I started a new batch.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Any preperations I should make take. When flowering I was gonna take out the humidifier and turn up the scrubber. I was also going to change the res tomorrow and go with a 2-2-2 for the next 7-9 days, then the next res change goto the 1-2-3. ANY THOUGHTS?

Thanks all,
BL

Sweet, nice going on the light. I am thinking of getting one or two. Yea flip the light 12/12, get the humidifier out of there and as far as the nutes, I'm not a hydro guy so I'll not say anything here.
