I don't have a problem with the people who like the movies or anything like that. It's the mythos I have a problem with. Vampires DO NOT sparkle! Sunlight=death for a vampire, bottom line. Shit like this is the only problem I have with those movies/books. That and the author admittedly did no research into any of the mythos involved with it. I'm a gamer (D&D [fuck 4th ed.], White Wolf, World of Darkness, CoC, etc.) so that is probably why I have all of this beef with the entire genre of vampire romance.

Vampire folklore existed long before Bram Stoker wrote Dracula. So who knows? There could have been sparkly vampires.

And it's hard to argue with the fact that the series has grossed over a billion dollars by catering to the target audience: Overweight tweens and their divorced, overweight mothers.

The books are amazing. No one would be making these pictures, or talking all this shit, if the movies weren't made. TONS of people LOVED the books before the movies were even thought of. And not all "fat tweens", or whatever other names people wanna make up for fans.

With that being said, the pictures about the sparkling are the most funny. I agree, vampires shouldn't sparkle. But that's a small part of the great book.
