How to reduce flowering time

I vegged my clones for 5 weeks - 12-14 inches then out into 12/12 for the last few weeks. With a ful flowering period I would expect the plants to finish by jan 10th, however I want to push this up by about 2 weeks - is this possible? I realize it will effect the yield. Looking for experienced grower who has had to reduce light period to force maturation. What would be the best light period to accomplich this and are there any nutes that would also help?

Flowering is genetic... it cannot be speeded up, or slowed down. A plant will flower for a set period of time. That's it.:mrgreen:

I've never heard or tried of anyway to take off a significant amount of flowering time. Come up with some ideas that work and i think you'll be worshipped by all gardeners.

i agree... you cant speed up maturation... but then again... try injecting it with hormones :) .... worse comes to worse you could harvest 2 weeks early... it might effect potency and yeild... i dont see why it matters anyways... because after you harvest you need to dry and cure which will take a few weeks... so just let the plant grow the extra week or 2 then if you really "need" the bud then just water cure it.. i'd rather have alot of decent bud then alittle decent bud

you might be able to decrease your 12/12 to around 10/14 with lights off for a little longer. maybe introducing it gradually will force em to finish quicker. But do not quote me, it is just a guess :)

My last crop finished in 48 days. I didn't force it, but I do uses a lot of light for the small amount of plants. the recommended finish time is 7/9 weeks so I did it within the lesser time. I dunno why? I will try again with the same strain pretty see and see what gives

i dont know... search it up on this site... or google... something about puting your buds in water and microwave... something to that effect... ive herd it has good results.. from the majority of responces ive seen

No way man, trying to get away from the driving around looking. Got a few reliable guys but dont want to deal with dealers anymore.

Good point, looks great so far will post pics. ASAP. note to self - SEARCH water curing....

1st grow - Im running 5 at about 3' each nice canopy - started lst then some supercropping having lots of fun with it. AK47,dynamite, blueberry haze. I want quality here as I consider myself a conniseur of sorts - for a newb. 400w hortilux eye in 4' space - nicely filled. Will try the reduction of time from now (running 13light/11dark) to (8light/16dark) will post results.

Was hoping there was also a chemical way to induce this last maturation state....

Trying to get these goodles for new years - big suprise for the boyz.

i've heard of a shorter light period with more dark hours...use like a 20 hour period...8/12 then start up the 8 again...it'd be a bitch with the timer but i was told it does work.

Flowering is genetic, believe it.

All you're doing by decreasing the light hours is asking for even less bud.

You are describing changing the daily light cycle - i think the original question is how to shorten flowering times (not day lengths).
