well i had them in party cups, at first i was watering every other day, and then moved a little farther away, granted i know i was watering them too much, but that Mg organic has tons of wood and bark in it that hold tons of water, plus that soil compacts like crazy. i dont know if you have ever used it before but im just speaking from experience

Already in the soil did not have time or money to get perilite at the time but have been watching how much i feed them as to not overwater since i dont have a drainage medium.

I noticed the large amount of barky substance the shity part is i found fox farm ocean blend for 10 bucks and now have a bag but its little to late i think. So you think I should water once a week my temp is around 80day-68night and my light is not putting off much heat.

whats your humidity and are you starting from clone or seed? you will be fine for now without the perlite and sand. are they already in the 4 gallon pots.

Clones they been vegging for two weeks now and are on 20-4 not sure of the humity but I would have to say somewhere around 60 percent. Thats based off my house heater reading.

well if they are clones id imagine they are ok if they are rooting well. you could probably keep them in those 4 gallon pots but i dont know if you want to use that soil all the way through flowering and such. to be honest if you can id switch to a soil that doesnt have slow release nutes in it. i have decided i dont like them and my next transplant wont have them. id rather feed more and regulate how much food they get than let the prepacked soil dictate that. plus those prenuted soils have lots of N in them and slow release( if you dont know, slow release nutes are organic or chemical nutes that are either coated in plastic or combined with and insoluble polymer thus making them release slower and not all release in the first dozen waterings) during flowering you want very low N if any. you want to be packing it with phosphorous with a little potassium. if you get some extra money i recommend gettin either jacks classic Bloom Booster or Fox Farm Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz, Cha Ching tri pack. the Jacks classic is way cheaper, like 10 dollars for a 1.5 pound tub. the Fox Farm is 65-90 depending on where you buy. ok back to soil, sorry been toking a little too much. a good soil depends on how much aeration you want and drainage. you dont have to put any nutes but if you throw in a little blood meal and bone meal itll help and be good for when transplanting. gentle and good for roots. i would do 4-6 cups of potting soil or what ever you want to use to one cup perlite. then put 1 cup sand for every 8-10 cups soil put in. 2-3 cups max seems to look to have a good consistency. i mix them in 5 gallon buckets. i like to add a little spaghnum moss and peat moss to my soil too but isnt totally necessary.

well the organic says 2 months slow release so you should be ok. it may actually help alittle during the initial veg. but you need to get something really high in phosphorous for flowering. if you want cheap go with jacks classic. its organic and gentle. i have their veg nutes. and fox farm flowering nutes

Yeah I think they should be good for now had to cut the dose of big grow in half burned my sativa lil bit. I have been tilting my plants so the under branches can get more light wow resulted in more growth i think the branches think they are tops now. Thats what I love about this you get to exp. with it and make it your own.

What kind of sand should i use?
Make sure you use sand for agricultural use or "Play Sand" that has had toxic stuff removed already. You should definitely use sand because MG is notorius on many sites for GNATS, GNATS, GNATS! Sand and "Gnatrol" will help control gnats. If you do not own a Jeweler's Loupe(20-30x) or Shop Microscope you should. Check everything that goes into your grow room- especially any soil medium made by MG!!! Take a sample and look for the Gnat Larvae.
Did you sex your plants before moving to 4 Gal Pots? Plants will show sex earlier in smaller pots. You save time and labor if you wait a little while before Transplanting. The Loupe or Scope will make sexing possible as early as week 3 for some Indicas and in most cases you can determine sex by week 4-6.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for all of the help guys think i got it down as far as the soil goes. Now one of my plants which happens to be the only pure sativa in the bunch got some red spots and the fan leaves are drooping downward a bit. I thought it might be from the big grow so i switched to gen organics products and no more red spots at least no new ones. What do you think it was? My ph in the water was like 8.5 or higher so i bought ph down and its 6.5-7.0
