not gonna lie im not an expert on glues. i just know that hot glue works great when i make bongs so i was just suggesting it, thats all. i meant no disrespect was just confused on what you meant with using it on wood but i see what you mean.
No offense taken or intended. I just like the silicone because it dries really tough and sticks good. You should try it. It comes in clear or white and maybe some other colors. You can wet your finger with rubbing alcohol and smooth it out to make a nice neat transition and you have plenty of time to work with it. Don't try that with the hot glue - it will burn you.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I had pretty good luck with the hot glue gun. First it slipped right off, but I recently applied it more generously, and it works great. We just had an awesome session with it, and it rips HARD. Ive already aquired a Goldschlager bottle and a Razz handle to use as well. Ive already drilled most of the way through the razz bottle. These will make great xmas presents- and each one only costs me the $7.50 it costs for a female and a slide. Not bad. Also, both of the new bottles ive gotten wont cause the problem im having with this one- they both have a place I can drill straight in, and only need to use the rubber grommet, and no hot glue.

Check out the final product of the 1800 bottle.

Thanks! I just made another, this one requires no hot glue, the rubber grommet fit inside at the right angle. I had to use some hair conditioner to get the female to slide in, but its in now and ready to go!

The bottle has a 1/4" crack, but it doesnt seem to be spreading, and isnt leaking. We'll be gentle on its first few uses. :)

Why buy one if i can figure out how to make this work reliably? My total investment in this is $18. Even if I spent $30 at the hardware store on shit getting it to work, id still be saving over $100.

And thats $100 that can go towards an Aerogarden.:mrgreen:

I'm making one or a few.. ceramic bongs-- total investment $0

whatever you do, do not take a mason jar and try to heat it up with a blow torch to try and mold your own piece lmao.
