Growing Down South

Hi I grew last year with great results but now i plan to start growing again to see if i can get better results. The only thing is I almost got caught growing and had to start flowering early, so now I want to see if anyone knew how to build an outdoor grow box that will still let in natural sunlight but be discreet at the same time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I love if anyone could tell me the best time to plant again because the weather has been fucked up meaning it is freezing one day and hot as fuck the next. Thanks to all who respond.

well i dont think theres any kind of green house that is discreet. is this going on in your back yard or out in the woods? check out the farmers alminac for your last frost date . anytime after that u should be good.

hey im growing down south too. im in north carolina tao be specific. i have built a shed in the woods maybe 250 ft away from a power source. i have a 600watt light in there running thru wiring i buried. i've got 8 plants in there now. about to add 10. when i top these babies, i will clone them and double to 20. if you serious in doing this and are willing to invest money time and effort, you could do something similar. but an outdoor grow box that will use the sun would be hard to do. you might be able to pull it off with a very small box that you could carry around, but if u plan on growing trees, its impossible. i recommend starting up your plants inside where its warm and put them under a few CFLS that you find at lowes. and then transplant out side once they're strong enough to deal with the elements and after your last frost. i will be transplanting between april 15-30. good luck, and stay smart.

ya then i wouldent go buliding anything it would be alot easyier to spot than some plant out in the wild . i would look into a better spot if there are going to be hunters and fisherman in the area . or your gonna have to keep them spaced out and blend them in well.

I'm in Georgia and I have a "cold frame" using an old glass shower door and a 55 gallon drum split down the middle with the two halves facing up and the door on top of them. I've used this set-up for three years now with no problems. This lets me get plants that are about 6" tall before transplanting into permanent locations. As soon as I take the plants out I disassemble the set-up and spread it out so that it's not too apparent what it was. I had to replace the door last year because some yahoo shot it and broke it, but I got the replacement off of Craigslist for $25 so no biggie. The stuff just stays in the woods where people used to dump stuff so there's all sorts of crap laying around anyway. Works for me!
