can i collect dry spores? + rep

i was just wondering if i can just scrape the bottoms of the shrooms and etc to collect the spores off a dried shroom. i figgured isnt that just like a shroom print if its the underneath part of the shroom because its tissue as well so please help me and thanks i will rep all answers .

O my bad I didnt see that u said a dry mushroom I thought u just meant dry spores. Im not actually sure if u can make a print with a dry shroom

i wasnt talking about making a print i wanted to scrape it into sterile water and make syringes that way

That's a good question. They wont fall out as easily and you'll probably lose a bunch of them but I don't see why it would be a problem. Just try not to allow too much light in as your scraping off the spores. I'd also just be careful, don't know how much pressure they can handle. You might get luckier with some mushies that the veil never opened on, you might just be getting discolored mushroom if you scrape an open mushroom. It really does stain the shit. I'd also fear contams with this, just seems like it'd make it easier for them to grow.

That's a good question. I've actually had to change how I'm going to do everything. My cousin just got kicked out of his appt and is now going to live in my house starting the 19th of this month till sometime in mid April. He doesn't smoke or anything so I brought everything over to my friends house on Wednesday and sterilized and innoc'd that night. I'll check back next week sometime to see how much is growing. I'm going to his house in a few hours but I'm trying to teach him to not check on them much especially at the beginning. I might just take a peak though, sometimes it's hard not to.

yes its very hard to not peak and i researched the strain i was trying and it says its not for beginners to grow and also its a kinda slow colonizer

You can do it provided you are familiar with useing agar plates, as there will be contaminants on the shroom by now, they will also grow, so with the agar plates clean sections of mycelium are cut as they grow and transplanted to the next plate until no more of the contaminants travel with.... I.e. not a beginners project... why not wait a little till the guys with grows going on here now have their first harvest and ask one of them to make you a print. Its time you guys start a little entho trade ring, My local one can supply me with nearly anything I want.

However when it comes to living organisms, life sometimes finds away regarding of the odds.

also the shroom is dried andi dont feel like dealing with all of that i am a new to this and the strain i got is one of the hardest to grow and it needs to be checked on alot as for the site says psilocybe cubensis puerto rican strain

So I peaked on friday. I got 4 nickel sized mycellium spots per jar. Seems like they are growing slightly faster than last time so maybe that was mycellium in the syringe.

i just came from my buddys house and i got like 4 out of 8 jars with about the size of pencil erasers in each jar so i guess it finally took foot hold lol

Ehh, I'm pretty positive it's mycelium. I've grown these a few times before and mold is pretty obvious. Unless some kinds grow in strands like mycelium. No, no pictures. I got a shitty camera that I bought around 6 years ago on clearance and I lost the cord that connects to my computer like 2 years ago. I'd rather just get a new camera then buy a cord for a shitty camera but I'm a little lazy for that. plus broke
