First timer here.

I haven't really kept much of a journal on these. one is a purple wreck the other is a mystery seed. i had started with two others but they wouldn't sprout.

No germination prior to planting them.

the wreck came above soil on the 12th and i forget when the mystery sprouted...roughly 4 days later (yikes).

im currently using 10 23watt cfls. 7 are the 6500K and 3 are 2700K. all i used was socket adapter plugs, y adapters, and power strips. fox farm ocean forest soil. no nutes yet.

the plants were replanted last night into the 1.5 gallon pots you see them in now (they outgrew their former home of a clear solo party cup)...and the dresser customized to house them as babies w/ (at the time) 8 cfls and the walls of the dresser covered in mylar).

I have yet to set up the makeshift panels w/ mylar on them just yet. by this weekend i will have it done. the panels will enclose it on all four sides for the most part with nothing on the top (so it doesn't get hot in there).

So right now they are just set up with the cfls.

enjoy. thoughts and opinions pleasE?

You gota find a way to get those light above and as close to the plants as possible. Use a temp monitor at canopy to measure temps. Save you from burnin them.

thats been my main problem. i want to put them above but i dont want to hang them upside down (fear they will fall out possibly as i seen it happen here many times).

so i try to keep them flat but close...

the way i had it set up before worked great (the lights were literally over the pot...however these newer pots are too big so this is my temporary solution.

I saw on here that R. Shakleford used zip ties to secure them down on the power strip. Put one around the base and another that secures it to the power strip. Maybe that could help?

They hang over metal supports above my grow. When plants where younger i had wires at 4 corners and hung it horizontally to the plant canopy. Vertical shines light to plant on left and right which give nice coverage now that there are tons of tops.

I have an update!

plants seemed to be suffering from an unknown deficiency/bug problem. I invested in some fox farm grow big. put a teaspoon of grow big into a gallon of water and mixed it in.

both plants took half a gallon of the grow big infused water.

the plants seem to be on a recovery.

i also bought some tri-fold cardboard (like used for science fair projects) and fitted it with mylar via packing tape.

Thats what the shiny boards are infront and in back of the grow space.

take a look.

edit: the one of the left is the feminized purple wreck. the one on the right is the mystery seed.
