Importance of Fans during dark cycles question

Can I get away without running the fans at all during the dark period? I am trying to save electricity as much as possible. Even running them less often? My setup is in a closet with adequate intake/outtake during the light cycle... I would love to hear that I can leave the fans off during the dark cycle and leave everything on one timer. My closet is 5 by 5 feet with 7 plants soil grown.

Give it more than 30 minutes before you get your panties in a wad. Lights off, fans off. Lights on, fans on. Lights off, fans off. Did this answer your oh so pressing question?

Well come on, it is a simple question for inexperienced growers. Did I answer your question...... Come on Woodwacker........

It will probably be fine but its the more you got your fan blowing the more the air is moving and the more fresh air moving the better.

i thought you should always leave an oscilating fan 24/7 due to RH being higher during dark???? helps to prevent mould doesnt it???

yes it does prevent mold, if you have a fan conected to a carbon filter i would leave it running, if i turn off that fan, then people ask whats that smell, so i leave it on. also you should consider the fact that in nature the wind dosent stop when the sun goes down.

Yea but it also isn't windy every single night is it?... NO!

It's fine man. I'm growin in my closet too and ALL FANS ARE OFF during the dark cycle. I have EVERYTHING plugged into my timer and it worked out great! Don't believe me check the link in my sig

Good Luck

for someone who complained about the OP only waiting 30 min for a response, it's kind of hypocritical that you waited 9 minutes before posting this message...

or get a battery powered fan that takes d batteries. they last a good while. mine runs nonstop and is very quiet but a good blow.

I use to have one of those battery powered fans. It rand on D batteries. And lasted all of about 10 days then blades just stopped spinning. Oh, and I had to replace the batteries once already within that 10 days. Battery powered fans is probably the most expensive rout you could choose to take!

Look.. thanks for the answers... sorry if I "got my panties in a wad"... as the one guy said. Maybe you should try growing a different strain that makes you relax a little bit. I was just trying to bump my post. But thanks all ,your answers were all very helpful.

my battery powered one runs off of 4 d batteries and will go atlease 30 to 40 days without changing
With being on for 24 hours a day? Because mine ran on 2 D batteries, and after a week yes, the fan was still spinning, but NO where NEAR as fast as it was when I first put the batteries in.

If your right, and I'm not sayin your not, just from my person expierence with battery powered fans I find it incredibally hard to believe. But if you ARE right, that would be pretty cool. Any way you could find a link to the exact fan that you have? So I can take a look at it?..

EDIT: This is the exact fan that I had. That broke within 2 weeks of me owning it. And would have to replace the batteries at LEAST that much to keep it at enough power to do what I want.

Been a longtime grower and I do not leave my fans on at night/dark hours.

I use the 18/6 schedule too, and them 6 hours of darkness is nighty night time for my girls.
