And I just bought my timer at the local hydro shop. It was marked 79.99 but the owner said it was the wrong price it was suppose to be 69.99. And i was willing to pay 79.99 haha. Well ive heard of people trying to make a DIY cycle timer like but it ended up costing the about the same price or more in some cases.

Im not positive but that would probably overwater the plants. I'd say the best way would be to use the 1 on/5 off. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

If you cant find one theres always ebay or another website. You could probably find one for cheap on ebay for sure.

Talking about Nft cycle timers. They're used for aeroponics. Normally they're set for 1 min on 5 mins off. Like i said in not sure if other times would work but this is what most people use from what Ive seen.

This is the one i have because that's what the local hydro shop had. Its 1 min on/4 mins off.

you need to balance you timer's setting with the output flow of your pump, i dont know how many tubes your planning on floodin, but if you pump is not big enough, you wont be flooding all of them with the same ammount of water. 1 min on may not be enough water with to small of a pump. if you are using a 15 min on pump, wich i use on drip rings in DWC i run it 3 times during the day cycle, with no signs of overwatering, i could probably bump it up to 4 times during the 12 hr. its basically a trial and error deal, just expermient with it before you get the plants rockin. good luck with it, i brainstormed the exact same setup, before i decided on 5 gal bucket/tub DWC.
