Thanks for any input. this is almost half the price of any other comparable light. Is the single bulb really switchable to run at either 400,600 or 1000w?? Some help would be nice.

i dont know about the bulb but the reflector sucks ... silver makes hot spots and such. sorry not to be more help

I think you are reading the ad with the naive eyes of a wishful thinker. They mean 400 watts, 600 watts or 1,000 watts - three different models to choose from! Down near the bottom of that ad they give three different prices for those three different wattage systems.

yes they are 3 different systems but you can use either a mh or hps bulb so that's pretty cool.

Might be true but you could always paint the inside white too.

Thanks guys. Does anyone recognize the ballast? That is really the make or break of this kit. It's only $200 CND for the complete 600W kit. It just seems too cheap... the cheapest lumatec 600W kit I can get is $420 CND

I'm guessing that is about right.. You are paying for Lumatec..the other one you are trying to determin what it is...think about it..

They are Welthink Balasts. I've since read the other post on them and will be buying one of them to try out... It sure saves some $$$. If it lasts 2 or 3 grows i pays for itself!
