HELP! HOT Grow Room...

I've got an 6 x 8ft. room with 7ft. ceilings that gets pretty damn hot on my 18/6hr cycle.

I'm running 2 x 400w HID set up.. the walls and floor are covered in 2mil thick mylar.

I've got a 6 inch hole in the front wall right now that could be used for some sort of cooling system but I'm not sure the most effect way to do this. I crack the door most of the time when it's 'daytime' and put a box fan in the doorway (note: door is narrower than most). Also have an oscillating fan in the room blowing love on the girls.

if its well insulated yur gunna havta cool the lights bro!! with...i.e. ..cool tubes and a inline fan!!
I'm fairly new to this so how would I go about doing that?

Hooking a fan at one end of one of my lights with ducting to the other light and then running out the 6" hole I have?

Would the air pump in or out of the room across the lights?

pulling air out is the best way... you can push it in as well if you like

with 400w i ended up needed one 6 inch exhaust with about 150cfm... also i have 3 4x5 passive intakes

you would do well with vented hoods but if not you may need 300-400 cfm to suck off the heat effectively

do you actually check the temps? how hot is hot?

You're going to need at least a 6" inline fan. AND you need to pull the air from the lights (enclosed hoods), and exhaust it outside. Thats important! If you just move the air from one room to the other, it can not replenish the Co2. The air will quickly become stale for the plants and they will not grow. Plus, thats how you get rid of the heat.

It got to low to mid 90's after about an hour with the door completely shut, I can't imagine what it'd be like when I run 2 x 400w with the door shut.

you can put some frozen 2ltrs in front of an osculating fan to blow some cool air around the room

if you don't have an active exhaust you're only option is going to be not having a door...

are your hoods vented? if so exhausting your hoods will help a ton

if not you will need to exchange a lot of air

with the right amount of air flow the temps with the door shut and exhaust on can be the same as with door opened and no exhaust at all or even lower than that...

but with 800 watts exhausting something in that size space is inevitable

This is all a big help.. I'm now wondering if anyone knows what type of fans I'm going to need to attach to my hoods?

I'll try the frozen water, air blowing in the meantime but I'm going to need something more stable for future grows.

Anyone know good sites or brands and styles of fans I should be looking for?

people seem to like the inline can style blowers http://htgsupply.com/products.asp?categoryID=7&subcategoryID=39

i personally only have experience with one type... a twin blower off an OTR microwave... not exactly you're every day solution... but it fit what i needed perfectly http://cgi.ebay.com/MICROWAVE-VENT-BLOWER-GE-WB26X10191-WB27X10170_W0QQitemZ220560385392QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335a6c6570

i only went with the microwave blower because it was free and able to do the job... i had to build a box for it to go in to attach the ducting to

So those look great and 100 isn't that bad for this type of investment, but is there any cheaper alternatives to buying one fan to cool both lights and move air in and out of the room? Am I asking too much? haha
