vertucal vs. horizontal with a twist..

.. hey all.. i have two herijuana plants in vegetive growth under a two foot t5 with four bulbs.. i have the t5 hanging vertically with the plants placed in front of them.. i have the plants placed on an old record player set at the lowest speed, which turns the plants constantly around the t5 so that the whole plant is always getting equal amounts of light.
my ? was is this a better use of the light than i would be getting if i had the t5 horizontal and the plants stationary? the old deck can handle the weight of the small plants at their current weight, but it doesn't look like it would hold much more than what i have on it now.. do you think looking into some form of motors for later on would be worth it, or am i just spinning my wheels? lol.. any thoughts or ideas on how to build a more powerfull lazy susan would be great, or thoughts in general on this set-up..
i got the idea after reading a thread on those spinning lights, and thought why not spin the plants instead of the light?

Glad you liked it...!!!:razz:

Thanks for the kind words...:weed:

Now.. back to your issue...:clap:

A turn table is a pretty delicate instrument... I imagine something more solid... not suspended on tiny springs...

Just about any electric motor can be used... I mean.. you can power a freight train with a sewing machine motor, IF YOU USE THE RIGHT GEARS...:lol:

So maybe something off of a microwave oven... with the wheels and the glass dish... I'm not sure how "handy" you are... but that is about the simples thing I can think of...

I'll keep "spinning some thoughts" around my head and then get back to you...:razz:

Good luck.. and be creative...:clap::weed:

Very good idea, Just a thought it might be more efficient. I have a few motors from radio controlled cars when I was a kid..

+ rep though awesome idea.

Please make a journal

Ops I meant it might be more efficient to move the lights instead because plants get big and soil is heavy.
