Sorry to say this man, but you have some major problems going on. My only guess, without any more info, is that you have your PH outta whack, 'causing nute lock. Or, too much nutes, 'causing nute burn. Or both, at some point. I don't even see a growth tip on the big one, and the little one looks like there is no new growth developing, and both should be way bigger for their age. So, I guess the quection is....What's your PH, and what nutes have you been using?

I am just using some generic nutes that came with the hydro system. and im not sure what my ph is. is there a way i can figure out my ph without buying a ph scale thing.

and if i switch to distilled water do you think anything will change?

you're using nutes on them? they're too young for nutes dude

as for the other one, when my plant got brown spots it turned out the light was too close to the leaves, backed it off a bit which solved it

Well if i have to start over when shall i start using the nutes
depends what the nutes are for there are several different sages that the plant goes threw and there is nutes that concetrate in the certain phase....you should go to the nutes thread and read around...you shoudnt introduce the nutes till it has atleast 2-3 healthy nodes id say and you use a little amount to begin..ps you should be using grow dont try feeding it bloom or something like that

You can test your PH with a test kit. Vial & drops, nice thing it is cheap and easy. Good way to start and keeps you involved. Save your money before thinking about a pen.
Common practice when to start feeding is a matter of opinion. 3rd/4th week, 3rd/4th set of leaves, when they start to show a slight hint of yellowing. All depends on the strain, and climate (light, heat, humidity) If these are not decent you can stunt the shit out of it. If it is not happy, it will set you back.
