CFL Advice

Hey everyone,

Just a quick one, im growing 2 Autoflower Easy Ryders Fem under 1x 125w CFL and 2x 12w Ion CFL Bulbs in a small cupboard. Temps 75-79 humidity steady 40-45%.

Is this enough W for the whole cycle for both plants? When I was looking at buying my CFLs, people said this should be enough but im worried now. Is it really enough? Im pretty skint now so not like can do much about it if im honest.

A lot of people suggest 100watts per plant, but auto-flowering plants tend to stay small so you may be alright with 150 or so. You may still want to look into 2 23w or something. Lumen output is important as Iron Joint had mentioned. You'll want at least 3000 lumens per square foot to ensure steady growth.

Sometimes it is written on the bulb but usually not. Try and at least find the kelvin rating on the bulbs. It will look like 2700k,5500k,6500k or something similar.

For flowering I would say you need a minimum of 20,000 lumen for 2 plants. That doesn't mean its your target, just your absolute minimum.

Yeah they are lol was a bit of an experiment more then anything. I have my cupboard set up pics going up now so keep an eye out.

Is that Mylar in there? If so, i would think that in such a small area you would benefit from wrapping the pots with a layer of Mylar. From below their top lip down. Since the lights and walls and everything are packed so tight it may make a noticeable difference.

Thanks for asking that question. Im using c.f.l. Also. Im growing in a closet that is 2 x 3 andam using 2 - 120 watt equiv.. 5500k and 2 - 60 watt equiv.. 3500k not sure how many lumines. They sell a huge 300 watt equivulant c.f.l. At home depot for around $15. A couple of those should work for you. I have never used one but i think im going that route when im ready to flower. Just to let you know what ever the equivalent is it means nothing its what your actual watt usage is that we go by. My CFL is about 300w Equiv I believe and actual 125w. what actual watts are yours?

I didnt know that thanks. Im a first timer. 2 - 23 watt an 2 - 14 watt. I think im gonna go buy a 125 watt today. But they seem to be growing awsome. Have six different strains that i got from oaksterdam. How do i post a pic so i can show you?

I have three white widows, one green crack , one purple kush, one odessey , and one hindu skunk. And in the aero garden i have 6 purple dot from seed

Look very healthy. I would suggest for flowering if not sooner deffinately need more watts specially for that many plants! Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah i have a friend that wants to sell me a brand new 400 watt mh so i might just have to do that. Do youthink that will be enough for all my plants?
