Okay today i'm makin a choice on ligts i'm still new too this but been growing bout a year now under 6 t12 and now i'm looking into the hps now that i got the money but i been heariing alot about t5 lighting and i need to be able to get the best for my money right now i have 12 plants growing four clones and 8 plants in veg state i will upload pictures of set up lights and plants so i can get the best now i would like some one that has tried both or knows about it cause i can read and know wat people suggest i'm looking for answers my room is 8.5 feet wide and 11 feet length i'm only using a quarter of room other corner going to start veg and flower side this is a room i just been cleaning out and moved plants in there
the first shows the lights now two t12 under each lamp 40 each cool white also have used for flowering with decent sucess just cause of money the sec shows you the plants in flowering there are some clones mixed in too the last one shows you the area i have there is a exhaust pipe that runs in there too from laundry room on other side so let me know

With that size of room I would suggest maybe a couple 4 or 600 W HPS bulbs. You will get the yelid you are looking for with that. Otherwise I think you will be very dissapointed trying to use Florecent over such a large space.

i pretty much agree with moto.. i would say a 600 watt hps.. or you could go with a digital ballast that would let you run both hps and mh in the same hood.. a very good choice..
saying that though.. i just got a four bulb two foot t5 for my last grow, just for the vegging phase, and i will never use anything else to veg with.. the plants loved it.. grew nice and bushy with tight internodes.. excellent value for the money.. i even through some bloom bulbs in it and used it in conjunction with my hps during flower and had great results..
there are soo many options out there now adays, and what it really comes down to is personal choice and money.. if you have the money, you could get say a 400 watt mh to use for veg, and get a seperate maybe 600 watt hps for flowering.. or you could get a t5 for vegging and clones, and get two 600 watters for flowering.
just do a lil research on whatever your looking at, and try and make the best choice that works for your setup..

Depends on your choice they both cost around the same but with hps you have to get a good cooling system. Hps is the way to go but i only use cfls for seed germ and clones then t-5 for last month of veg and flowering. It keeps my heat issues under control with out loud squirel fans and those type of contraptions

For flowering go with a 400-600w HPS for a 3'X3' - 4'x4' space or a 1000W HPS for 4'x4 - 5'x5''space and you'll do just fine. Get something like the NextGen Digi ballast.
