HELP! tons of questions

i have quite a few questions. first, is a 150W mh light enough for 1 or 2 plants? how far away should the mh be? they are under fluorescent right now and just sprouted today. what light to dark ratio should i use now, and when should i change it? they are in jiffy pots right now, what size pot should i transplant them in? i want them no bigger than 5ft. what kind of nutrients, how much, and when to start adding them?

i know i should probably search for all of this, as some of you master growers have probably had to answer before, but i'm on dial up and it is taking me forever to look all of this up, so anyone who can and doesnt mind answering these questions please help me!

Hey, Im not an experienced grower but im flowering my first grow as we speak. My advice can help get you started in the right direction. Since your seedlings have sprouted they will be now depending on sunlight for photosynthesis to grow. Your lights should be on a cycle (easiest way is with a timer) of 18 hours on and 6 hours of darkness. This is known as the vegetative stage where the plant grows taller and thicker. You dont want to change your lighting cycle for about 6-8 weeks or until you want to begin flowering your plants. At that time you will switch your cycle to a 12 hours on and 12 hours off with complete darkness during the off period. Im not sure how many plants you can grow with a 150 W MH as i use T5 but for the closeness, if you put your hand underneath the light and it burns your skin, it is likely itll burn your plants. Since you plan on growing large, larger pots are better and transplanting can cause your plants unnecessary stress so transplanting them ONLY ONCE is most effective.
I have been doing an all natural no-nute grow and its been effective up until now, where I am flowering and am learning about the nutes myself. sorry

hope that helps a little. if it doesnt ill try to give some short answers...

1. 150w should be plenty for 1 2 decent plants
2.the most commonly accepted lighting schedule for vegative growth is 18 on 6 off. i personally use 24/0
you will need to change your lighting schedule whenever you're ready to flower the plant (make them bud). then you will need a 12/12 l.s.
3.if you want to grow 5ft plants you should have roughly a gallon of grow space per foot.

i feel your pain man. i used to have 56gay it sucks. good luck growing!

i have quite a few questions. first, is a 150W mh light enough for 1 or 2 plants?

YES

how far away should the mh be?

Far enough so it does not heat up the top of the plant. Put your hand over the top of the plant and hold it there. If it gets hot or warm move the light up a couple of inches. Do this till you can keep your hand there and feel no heat. Cut a peace of colored string and tie it so the end is the height to keep the heat off your plants.

they are under fluorescent right now and just sprouted today. what light to dark ratio should i use now, and when should i change it?

I would go 18 on 6 off. You change it when you go to flower. 12/12.

they are in jiffy pots right now, what size pot should i transplant them in?

When you have lots of roots coming out of the jiffy ( 2 to 3 weeks) put them in 6" pots. They can live in the 6" for about a month to 6 weeks before needing to put in a bigger pot.

i want them no bigger than 5ft. what kind of nutrients, how much, and when to start adding them?

Start feeding them 10% of the suggested food for the first week to 10 days as the root system is still young. After 10 days go to 50% recommended ferts. After another 10 go 75% and stay there.

i know i should probably search for all of this, as some of you master growers have probably had to answer before, but i'm on dial up and it is taking me forever to look all of this up, so anyone who can and doesnt mind answering these questions please help me!
Good luck

Peace :peace:

You can get food at any hydro shop or green house. Go with organic, like Pure blend Pro less chance to screw up.

As you are only growing a couple of plants I see lots of guys using Miracle Grow and you can buy it anywhere. Never used the stuff myself.
