hi, I started a grow around start december in approx 6-7 weeks they were 20inch (is this good, bad or just average) so i repotted (3gal) and put them into flowering they are now double the size a lil over 40 inch using hps 400w,in soil,,but now im having problems with lower leaves and mid leaves turning yellow with brown spots then drying and dying also growth seems to have come to a hault my buds dont seem to have grown much in the last week using phostrogen all purpose plant NPK 24:8:16 feed once a week with ph6.8 and tap water mid week with ph down leaving it at ph6.7 also added miricale grow organic bloom booster and root booster to soil and a lil garden lime spray twice a day with tap water will post pics if someone will help me out im a first time grower also i had an accident with my light it dropped and snapped a good few branchs on both plants light survived thank god this was about the time i noticed the problem would this have out to do with my problem

Sounds like you have some nute defiencies, probably N and magnesium(and likely others). From the sounds of it, you're nutes should have enough N to keep them nice and green, so it's possible that you're having a nutrient-lock problem, whether it be from nute buildup, or low soil PH, hard to tell. Without knowing any more about it, I can only recommend flushing mildly(like 1 1/2 times the pot volume), then giving it fert afterwards.

Also, if you are spraying the plant with any kind of liquid, that's not a good idea during bloom because it can cause bud mold. Better hold off on that, or you might have some major problems. :)

cheers you have confirmed what i thought,, feed with epsom salts about a week ago so must be N def and i know low ph soil can cause this will flushing sort my low ph in my soil also nute build up could be a factor as i feed at full strenght first couple times of feeding now after addin bloom booster and root booster into the soil i only feed at half strength now

hi, I started a grow around start december in approx 6-7 weeks they were 20inch (is this good, bad or just average)

There are many factors that decide the growth of a plant. (Light, soil, pot size, tempature, genetics, etc). As long as they look healthy, don't worry

so i repotted (3gal) and put them into flowering they are now double the size a lil over 40 inch using hps 400w,in soil,,but now im having problems with lower leaves and mid leaves turning yellow with brown spots then drying and dying

It is normal for lower leaves to brown, and die, during flowering. During flowering the plant is using the those leaves to feed itself. During flowering the plant puts all it efforts into bud development.

also growth seems to have come to a hault my buds dont seem to have grown much in the last week.

This is normal, you will not see a significant development of buds until the end of the plants life cycle. Normally the last two weeks.

using phostrogen all purpose plant NPK 24:8:16 feed once a week with ph6.8 and tap water mid week with ph down leaving it at ph6.7.

Stop feeding the plant this. During flowering plants the plants need more Phosphorous, than Nitrogen.

also added miricale grow organic bloom booster and root booster to soil and a lil garden lime spray twice a day with tap water.

Ok you are over doing the fertilizers. That is the biggest mistake newbies make while growing. Especially during flowering. Also you should not be foliar spraying while flowering. It can cause mold buildup on the bids, and make the buds useless.

will post pics if someone will help me out im a first time grower also i had an accident with my light it dropped and snapped a good few branchs on both plants light survived thank god this was about the time i noticed the problem would this have out to do with my problem

These plants are very resilient, if a break happens. Although growth may stop for awhile because the plant has to repair itself, you should be fine. Just hope it is not stressed to the point where it starts to hermie.

Based on your pics your plants look real healthy, although they are starting to show show signs of nutrients overload. Stop giving them nutes and wait till the plant tells you it needs them

Hope the advice helps

Being that you have pretty much added a lot of nutes already, chances are you won't need to add any more.

During the last weeks of flowering you want the plant to use up there reserve energy, stored in the leaves.

You don't want the plant to have full lush green leaves at the end.

You will know you have a Hermie, because you will start to see some ball sacks appearing.

As far as NPK there are so many different products with so many different ratings of NPK. So it is hard to tell you, which one is best.

Personally I stick with organics. The soil is prepared and have enough nutrients to sustain them throughout the entire grow.

Also with organics you don't have to go crazy about PH (Although some will disagree)

Read some of the FAQ and that will answer most of your questions

I agree with kieco. Now that you've posted some pics, I don't see any deficiencies at all, just a touch of overfert indicated by the burnt leaf tips.(that's not a bad thing, as long as it doesn't get worse) They look pretty healthy, actually. If you're worried about PH,(and don't have any testers) you can flush so that you can switch over to a bloom fert and start with a clean growing medium, but it's not something that must be done. Also, if you're looking for a bloom fert, look for something with a higher middle number in the ratio,(the phosphorus) like 3-8-5, or something like that. They look pretty good, so they should turn out nice if everything works out okay. Good job man. :)

I don't think watering for a "couple weeks" is such a good idea, because they'll probaby start showing deficiencies by then. I'd go about a week, then go back to bloom ferts, possibly at 1/2 strength, then working your way up to full strength again. Best of luck with the harvest, should work out pretty good. :)
