You should but dont have to, you can take a clone whenever you want and as long as you get it to root its all good. Sometimes you have no choice but to wait until a bit after flower to see what the sex of the plant turns out to be if you didnt veg until pre flowers. Its best to not take clones too early or pre maturity. You should grow the plant at least 3-4 weeks before taking a clone or 5 branch sets normally is a mature plant. Anytime after you can take a cutting, I just put the cutting in a half filled cup of pro mix. I spray the soil and inside of cup well after dipping the cutting in root powder and setting in the soil. Cover the cup with plastic wrap and put in the grow room indirectly under the lights for warmth. CFL may not produce enough heat and you may want to use heating matt to assist the cutting catching root. The warmth is most important when trying to catch roots. Its also best to not feed just before taking your cuttings so they are a bit hungry and will want to produce roots and reach for the nutes, there is lot of info on cloning for any plant good luckdo i have to take clones b4 i put them into flowering? how do i clone them? and do i have to wait b4 i can start flowering to clone?

Best bet for clones is to keep them in a hummidty dome, make sure though that it's vented so the plants can breath. You can easily assemble one from things around your home. Clones like temps of about 80-85F, and like a hummidty of about 80%, do these things and you're success rate is greatly improved.would putting them above the lights help? like i have the metal shelf's in the closet the tiny bars would putting them above the light be okay?
