Just use a green light bulb, or what I do is use a headlamp that has a green light mode on it. They can be bought for 15 bucks at walmart. Any light outside of the green spectrum has the chance of waking your plants up while they are sleeping. It MAY affect your plants in adverse ways. This isn't 100% true all of the time, but why take the chance? Green is the way to go :-o

Light leaks and light fluctuations are the main cause of hermaphrodites besides genetic tendencies.
But, in your case you should be fine.
Based on my experience and what I have read of others, it takes multiple instances of light stimulus to trigger hermies. Some strains show stronger resistance to hermaphroditing then others.

(Commenting on the contrary remark about sunlight and clouds.)
The clouds do not block out the sun completely and the plants are still fully aware that it is day. The still photosynthesize all day, just not as much.

in florida you can get a hell of a sunburn on a cloudy day, plenty of uv rays go thruogh even the thickest of clouds. but 5 mins once or twice is no big deal.

That's not the same thing as the sun coming out full bore in the middle of the night out of nowhere!! There's no equivalent for that in nature. This has been proven to cause hermies... the amount of time/intensity required to cause hermies is still up for debate. Some strains are more sensitive than others. I've heard Sour Diesel will herm very easily due to light... maye even just a couple brief exposures.

What if there's a small amount of indirect incandescent light showing through cracks in the door and tarp gaps?? I've checked and none of the light actually hits the plants. I can't see the plants at all if I'm in there. But I can see some light shining in the cracks of the floor joists along the ceiling. I don't think the plants can actually "see" this light though.

What do you think?
