Noob on a mission.

Ok folks, here it goes. Im planning out a room. I believe I have the right idea as far as the flowering room is concerned. I plan on running the following.

4'x5' flowering space, 20 square feet
2-600w hps with 91,000 lumen
6" air cooled reflectors
Lumatek digital ballists
soil with 3 gal. containers
20 ladies
Fox farm nutes and ocean forest soil
2 house fans for circulation

passive intake system
what ever fitler/fan is appropret for the total square footage of the room.

QUESTIONS:
1. whats a good vent schedule?

2. will a backdraft dampener seal in the smell when the fan isnt on? If not how do I controll odor leak?

3. I plan on keeping 2-3 mothers. will a t-5 20,000 lumen work well, or is that to much?

4. what would be a good set useing T-5, to take 20 clones through 8 weeks of veg for a perpetual harvest?

thank everyone for your imput.

1. Unless you are running C02, run the fans all the time.

2. Another reason to run the fans 24/7. The smell will leak otherwise.

Can't help you with 3 or 4, I grow exclusively under HID. Should work but I would think T8's would do the trick just as well for less.

Im not planning on a Co2 set up at the moment.

When running a can filter 24/7, how long will the filter be effective? 6 months with 20 ladies sized correctly to the cubic feet of the room?

I will look into T-8s.

thanks for your help.

hope some more people chime in..

1. Exhaust fan on at all times, exhausting outdoors not to another room in your house (unless you're also adding Co2).

2. See 1

3. You'll need a 4ft 8-bulb T5 or whatever for mothers. They don't need much unless they're monsters.

4. Perpetual harvest sounds good on paper but difficult for a beginner to pull of successfully with limited space. How do the small ones get light and other problems. I recommend one flower cycle at a time, until you gain some experience.

I don't know how long it takes to get soil plants to height. Do yourself a favor... be aware of how large your plants will get in veg, how much they will explode in size during flower, and what you're going to do about it. Are you lolipopping them? Supercropping? One of the biggest mistakes is trying to do too much too fast.

My advise: it's really not about the number of plants you have in a room. It IS all about the number of buds in the available canopy. To that end, start with good seeds. Not bagseed no mater where it came from.

I change out my CanFan Filter roughly every year for best results. The canFan filter has a prefilter on the outside of the filter. Replace it every 6 months..Their real cheap. Best of luck to ya! :)

Thanks for the comp. but I am deffinitly a noob. I just read up on it aloooot. No real expearance. I like to be prepaired. and I do it right the frist time.

Thanks for you advice SMOKEINGRUBBER. I think a 4'x8 lamp may be a bit to much for a couple moms. I think that would be better suited over my veg room.

My answer above was a long winded way of saying "be prepared". Pay close attention to everyones pictures on all of these threads and watch how big their plants are getting. Watch the succesful grows and the not so great ones. The threads that die off are probably the no so great ones. Find pictures of plants grown in a simular fashion to the way you intend to do it, and guage from there. Watch how big they are when they are about to be harvested. Rinse and repeat ;)

I said 4ft or whatever cuz I don't know how big your mumz are. I've seen some crazy big mumz man.
