"How far were/are the lights away, both fluors and now HPS? That's a pretty radical change regarding light intensity. Naturally they're gonna react by going a little yellow and showing moisture stress, see my sig link."

Under Fluros the plants were never more than 5 inches away, and although they were mostly under flourescent tubes i did have a 250 W MH that i put them under every other day but i was restricted to the use of the MH due to heat problems i had. Now they are about 35 CM away from the 250 W HPS, i have another 250W HPS but i have to leave it off due to heat issues once again so just the one HPS in use for the time being.

"Don't worry about pH.

What is the NPK values of your plant food?"

i am using organic biobizz fish mix liquid plant food, the NPK vlues are 6.0 - 2.0 .4.0

thanks for the reply Uncle ben

thanks for that thread advice Shnkrmn, i'll research them today at work :)

I've ordered some H202 hydrogen peroxide, do you think that will do any good and can i mix nutes with that stuff gys?

I will say one more thing about over watering. I learned to lift the pots in order to see how much moisture is in the container. It is the best way that I have found to listen to the plants and give them water/nutrients only when they are ready. You woulds be surprised how long it takes for the plants to use the moisture in the containers. When they start to feel feather light, give them what they need. I know some people wait until the plants starts to wilt a little before but you don't need to be that extreme. Become the plant whisperer.

Heat is one thing, light saturation is another. If they are getting too much light, and/or they have not been slowly acclimated to high light they will respond by bleaching out of the chlorophyll, yellowing. That shuts down photosynthesis.

Are you sure? Bio Bizz Fish-Mix (2.1-0.2-6.6) http://www.gchydro.com/BioBizz+Fish-Mix.html

I don't think any of these vendors know what's in this crap. At this site they have it listed as a 1-0.2-7 1 http://stores.northcoasthydroponics.com/-strse-22829/Fish-dsh-Mix-Liquid-Fertilizer-Concentrate/Detail.bok

Now we have a NPK here of 2-0-7 http://www.4hydroponics.com/nutrients/biobizzfish.asp

.....and NOW we have a BioBizz Fish-Mix (2.1-0.2-6.6) http://www.environmentalgreenproducts.com/store/biobizz-fish-mix-pr-16378.html

That's the cheesey Dutch for you!
They can't get their NPK values straight, and expect me to put any degree of trust in their snake oils?

Great for killing the beneficial microbe colony. Use that stuff as a mouthwash to bleach out your teeth. Don't use it on your plants.

thanks for your replies much appreciated as always you helping me on this up and down journey of mine.

Little Tommy

the pots are a little dry at the top but i have been sticking my finger into the drainage holes at the bottom and they do still feel pretty wet

Uncle Ben

i've attached a pic of the NPK value from the bottle of bio bizz mix... funny you say the dutch are cheesy LOL my mom is dutch and i always tell her how cheesy the dutch can be hehe

as per your advice i'll leave the h202 and maybe consider it as a mouth wash in the future :)

think i'll take your advice and lower the small problematic indica. the taller sativa haze combo seems ok and is not giving me that much problems for now.

here are some pics of some of the individual leaves i took a few moments ago from the problematic stubborn indica lady

Uncle Ben you will notice on the one pic i just posted of the larger fan leaf which is towards the bottom of the plant that has all these brown/yellow spots...that was the reason i fed the espn salts the other day, i gave one dose of espon salts when i saw those spots appearing and another dose a week later which must be the dose i mentioned on the thread earlier...after that the spots stopped appearing on the newer growth...so i can only assume that worked

till next time
cheers guys

dude i think your problem is in your head. You are growing stativa plants and thats what the leaves look like. Stativa leaves are light green, light and kinda hang at the tips. Indica are supposed to be much darker and much perkier, more closely spaced leaves. Your plants look healthy man, i wouldnt be worried

A Mg deficiency shows up as leaf chlorosis on the lower part of the plant. Necrotic dots usually suggests too much salts.

Good luck,

the buckets are atarting to dry up now and i am planning to probably water tomorrow or sunday (tomorrow would be 6 days since the last water)do you think i should feed plain water or gve a small dose of nutes due to the salt build up you mentioned and the last PH run off being at 5.1?

Hi StonerBeans

thanks for the comment, the longer skinny plants is the sativa strain and the shorter droopy plant in question is an indica strain

cheers

Listen man ur plants will do that just look at my indica in my album and when i go into flr use big bloom from fox farms it helps,24/0 to 12/12 can cause the same thing but what i see bro relax just sit back and smoke one,my plants do that when it is time for bed just a little,it will be ok young jedi:clap::weed:

The yellowing that i see can be caused by many think light, nute prob's and have seen do to over watering and or under watering at the same time like flooding it and then goin to long before next water and can cause salt build up in ur soil!!

Since the credibility of your plant food analysis is an issue, it's hard to advise what to do. If they were mine I'd flush the pot with water and then fertilize with a complete balanced food.

Best advice I have heard - Flush the salts and start fresh with reliable diet.

they might be root bound.my plants look the same way and then i made some bigger holes in the pot so the roots can grow more. also added N (6-0-0) to the res with the nutes im already using. problem solved. im using ebb n' flow but same concept.

morning guys

well the lights have been on for 3 hours so far this morning...with it being the weekend and all i put the other 250W hps lamp on and so far the temps have stayed around 82, if things start getting a bit too warm in there i'll put the other lamp off...so for now each plants has its own 250 W HPS. i just took these pics now under the HPS light so the leaves look a little better under that spectrum compared to the other pics i took under the flourescent tubes. Anyway its been 6 days since their last watering and i think they are looking better, the new growth is not droopy although i think the new growth is going a little slow.

Uncle Ben & Little tommy
i'm seriously tempted to do a flush but will let things dry out as much as possible first, i may flush or just do a plain water tomorrow which would be 7 days since the last watering...this is my 3rd grow and never have i ever gone that long with out a watering but they seem to look better with each day passing without water and as the saying goes "dont fix what aint broken"

Hi Firebud

you may be right but those pots are really big and i transplanted into those pots a week before i put them into flowering which is about 2 weeks ago now and there was alot of soil for those roots to grow in....and dam man it was a hell of a mission transplanting into those pots in the first place i'd have to get all my buddies to help me transplant into bigger pots as they already weigh like 20-25 KG's with all that soil in so i seriously would like to avoid that for now if possible. The other plant seems fine she is really growing well, just the shorter plant which is the pain in the ass and they were transplanted at the same time. I've attached a pic of the smaller pot they were in and the larger pot i transplanted them into that they are currently in so you can see the size difference of the pots

have a good weekend all.

Well its day 8 and if things stay the way they are then i'll be very happy.the leaves seem much better and no longer droopy. I gave them a half flush if you can call it that yesterday and they never drooped at all.I think i'll wait for things to dry up and then give them a lite dose of nutes. A combination of all your advice seems to have sorted out this problem like letting the pots dry, hanging the lights up a bit higher from the plant, flushing etc...

i have attached pics i took a few moments ago of my 2 babies....ths shorter indica i know for sure is a female is i can see plenty of white hairs all over now but the taller sativa i still dont have a clue as the pre flowers on that plant are not too well defined yet but something tells me its a male.

thanks again to all the guys that helped me out here, much appreciated
