Tested Soil W/ Rapitest, Chart Says LOW N...

Very low Phosphorous and Medium Potash. What should I do? The yellowing of the leaves doesn't seem to have spread.

I'm using 6 65k 26W CFLS, and 3 27k 26W CFL's, organic soil from local florist, 18/6, day 22 veg. Plants are in a double stacked rubbermaid 1 Inlet fan, 2 outlet fans, temps are consistently in low 90s but that hasn't been a problem. I have only done 1 nute feeding, I used Jacks All Purpose at 1/4 strengh like 2 days ago. When I fed them, they only had a little of that yellowing dryness on the leaves, now they have a little bit more, but I think it's stopped. Did this happen cause they were low on the N and P and this was going to happen, then I fed nutes and it spread alittle more, but the nutes I fed stopped it from happening more? Any help would be appreciated and +rep for all help o i'm thinking that I need to get some ph test strips as well huh? I can't do that till tomorrow though so it will unfourunatly have to wait.

So I said fuck it and went and got a ph tester and UP and DOWN from the pet store, I think part of my problem is that my tap water here is like 7.6! So I just mixed up a batch to try and get it down to around 6.0, matter of fact going to re-test, brb, well the ph is still pretty high, I followed the directions. Does it take a while for the ph change to take effect?

Also forgot to mention that I keep the lights in the cab around 2 inches above plants, also now that I think about it, the ones that are the most messed up looking have the lights right above them, the one on the left doesn't have bulbs directly over it and it's not as bad. I'm going to raise the lights a bit.

If it is not spreading on the new growth you should be fine. Dont overwater. Good Luck

Thanx for the input bro +rep. On some of the new growth there are a few little tiny brown spots, but it's remained the same since last night, i'm definatly thinking it's a lack of the N and P, plus a high PH. The soil is still to moist for watering/feeding, prolly tomorrow. Anybody else have any thoughts?

You have nute lockout....because your PH is to high....your getting some ,...but not the right ones.

should be around 6.3--6.8 for soil....I like to be around 6.6

All purpose plant foods suck....unless your growing roses or daisy's.

If you are going to invest the time...2 1/2 months for me...... buy some decent nutrients....veg/bloom


When checking your PH....if you add pH down, it should happen quickly.
Add/stir/check

When feeding....always add nutes before checking PH.

AHH! Thanx bro, pretty much what I was thinking, came to the same conclusion after testing and retesting everything, I've been watering with PH 6.5 and giving half-strength nutes. The girls seem to be doing great again, a half inch of growth since yesterday, and the yellowing hasn't spread, and all the other growth is nice and green. I think my prob was I was using all organic soil with no added nutes, and that the water was high PH7 almost 8, the girls ran out of nutes in the soil cause I wasn't really feeding them nutes, and then the high PH was fucking up the uptake of what nutes WERE there. I know this thread is old but… did you use rapidest 4 in one meter? because mine doesn't differentiate nutes, there are just 3 levels which somehow combines the three nutrients. How could you tell it's very low phosphorous medium potash and there's no problem with nitrogen?
