Fo' real. Overpriced.
Not just overpriced, they are bullshit. I ordered a 120 watt panel, received it damaged,( middle fan not working, smashed in, dented) and it covered half the area he said. So I called him on it, he sent me another 120 watt panel for free(because he said the coverage area on his site was wrong, not because of the damaged unit). Cool I thought, then the damage began. These things suck for seedlings, and for veg, you have to be perfect in the height at all times, or they twist the shit out of ur leaves. I replaced both with 150 watt hps lights, and brought my babies back from led death. He refuses to give me my money back, in fact, he wont answer my calls or emails. He deletes all comments on his youtube vids that dont praise his lights. Im willin to sell both of these panels for 300 total, they sell for 350 each, any takers? I wouldnt piss on Growledhydro if he was on fire.

ouch, yea i'm still waitin to see the proof too, everyone says that they are the future of growing but there is no proof and the ppl that have used them have nothing good to say about em, i think im stickin with my hps for a while :D

Lol the fact of the matter is , truly you cant judge every LED in the world by a handful of companies lies and bad products.. Somewhere, there are LEDS that work well for growing..

Its not LED technology thats flawed, its the understanding of that technology

I have subscribed to several LED grows...I have not seen a single one get past seedlings. Maybe people just stop posting, but I have yet to see some one grow buds with a damn lite brite!

Disclaimer: It is necessary from experience to note here that I realize that LED's are not the 70's toy "Lite Brite"...it is a joke! (much like thinking little tiny lights will duplicate sunlight:-P)

edit: and as for them being the future of growing...I can not predict the future...but where the hell is my flying car!?!?!?!

Lol you would have to be stupid to thikn that one single point of light, is better then multipul points of light that can be 20 times closer.. even down inbetween buds and leaves with the correct setup.. Not to mention all of that heat and electricity saved.. and those changed bulbs for HPS? whats that like 120 a year?

Im not blindly defending LEDS, as i currently choose an HPS over any CHEAP available LEDS, but im sure there are LED's out there that would easily outperform my 250W HPS..

Just because you dont know much about a certain topic doesnt mean you should slam it into the ground, do some research and you will learn many amazing facts.. LEDS have a much MUCH higher Watt to Lumen ratio then any other lights on the market.. The HPS bulbs we use are designed based on a flawed theory... Why do we measure light in lumens when growing plants? Plants know nothing about lumens and cant see lumens.. this is a poor measuring stick..

They measure with P A R , which LEDS supply a great deal of .

i wont go into it any further, the info is all there if you need it. Just do me a favor and dont bash something you dont understand.. we have a habbit of doing that on this planet and on this forum..

LEDS will increase in effectivity over the next few years and will become truly viable in that same time frame as a matchup to the HPS lamp.

Anyone who truly thinks HPS is the end of the road are the same type of people that swore the earth was flat

You know i am going to BASH LED lights.

The only fucking grow ive seen even worth looking at in the flowering stage had like a entire led grow companys worth of panels all over the place.

They cost a grip and produce shit compared to HID lights.

Im not saying that one day they wont be good but right now the cost, and weak flowering output is NOT were its at.

Cmon if you want to get real fat nuggies your going to be paying more for the LEDs than the fuckin buds worth.

I give it 3-6 more years until the LED technology is actually worth growing with.:joint:

You would have to spend 2000 or more dollars to hope to get the right light not good in mybook and the area they light is much smaller,Stick with what the best grow with mh/hps and u will not feel like a test bunny, good luck to all!!!!!! my thought on led's:spew: mh/hps for now they're the best and when i see fact not talk that there is a better way i will follow that tech but now rockin my mh/hps and think what there doin with mh/hps bulb today so dont count them out just yet i think we will see much more improved mh/hps in next 5 years and will smash the led and cfl's well hell they already do!! look for papered and visual fact not some asshole sales pitch!!!

I think maybe just for veg and the cost must come down by alot i mean alot!! at this point i could run my 400w light for 3+ years and it will not add up to 2000 dollar led!! and can grow more weed under mh/hps!!:weed:

I included my own post...to show how I "slammed into the ground" LED's:roll:

As for a single point of light...THE SUN!

Slam it into the ground??? Wow! I even said I was joking! I just have not seen the proof.

As for using lumens...these bulbs were designed for humans originally, and is just a point of reference.

As for "Just do me a favor and dont bash something you dont understand.."

...I believe you misunderstood me!;)

As for thinking HPS is the best...I dream of my outdoor grow and bright sunshine!

As for a time frame of when this will be workable/affordable technology...I have been around for a while. The future is now, and there are no flying cars, jet packs or hovercraft.

Demand and dollars drive the R&D and I doubt there is much of a market for lighting systems that require many units to be place in close proximity to a plant that can grow an inch per day...sounds like some serious work! Maybe Bonsai tree farmers during the arctic winter?
There is and has been a demand for solar technology and changes/improvements/lower cost have all been slim to none.

As for listening to the masses...I have looked at a few LED grows, as I mentioned, but I have not seen any past the seedling stage. Did they get too busy? Get busted? Plants die?...I have no clue! Could I do a bunch of research to find out if this is the wave of the future? Sure...but it is NOT in MY future...I am busy researching too many other topics to care that much, really have no opinion as there is so few who use these...including yourself!

And I have used two bulbs in 15 months...One was free when the other was not in stock when I bought the light...but I have more damn CFL's than I know what to do with:mrgreen:

oh...and don't yell at me:neutral:

Here is a link to IrishBoys current grow using this guy's (growledhydro) 600w light. Keep in mind this is a $1900 light given to him by growledhydro to document this grow.

He's done some awesome LED journals (check out irishboy's sig for journal and results). You should subscribe.
