Im trying to reduce heat in my new grow room,So I want to move my ballast outside the grow room on my patio

At the worst the ballast will get pee'd on by a dog,Will this ruin the ballast,Or should I make a special ballast box ,Or should I just keep the balast inside

the temp is around 78-80,but I will be adding another 400 hps ,thats why Im trying to see if I should keep the ballasts outside the grow room

thanks

You don't need to put the thing outside, just have it outside of the grow area...

My old grow room was a closet, the ballast was outside the closet next to the window,No heat issuses

Now my grow room is a outdoor closet connected to my patio,So the only option is put the ballast in the patio
Im afaird Im going to bake my plant heres pic of my beast im worried about baking ,

there was no pic added

the only way i could think is if you make/fashion some kind of box that is water proof etc to sit out side in the wet .

with a dog peeing onto a light ballast will light your dog up like a christmas tree.....make a box so it fits inside the box and vent the box with holes.also make sure this box is made out of metal because wood may set alight from the heat.MAKE SURE ITS RAINPROOF THO...if i had a choice from a plant and my dog id go out of my way to make sure that dog doesnt get hurt by putting a ballast outside in its teratory..

If you have an overhang why not suspend it in midair, dogs dont pee up.
People do though when they're passed out drunk so make sure it's up high enough.
Mythbusters did a show on "peeing on the third rail. They didn't manage to fry Buster until they jacked it up to a bazillion volts. I don't think the dog is in danger at 110v or 220v. Probably not good for the ballast though.
