Damn straight about the newer HPS bulbs. They are pretty close to a true dual spectrum bulb. Its definitely worth the few extra bucks for a better bulb. Look at the Sunmasters they rock! Side by side, better than Hortilux IMO.

The first part of your post is good info... then you let yourself down..
HPS's are now made with more Blue Spectrum added, so HPS's are now used and work (VERY WELL) for the whole grow..

As for the last part of your post... Out of order IMO! Telling someone to read up is good but there are ways of telling them?! Start over ?? Give the guy a break.. they may look bad at the moment but they could pull through, they don't call it weed for no reason!!

Anyway Bridge,

All Mix has enough fertilizer in it to last around 5/6 weeks, a telling sign to when your plants need feeding is when the seedling leaves (1st or rounded leaves) turn yellow and drop off.. this is when I would apply my first feed at 1/4 strength!
From what I'v read I would say your on top of it now?
I would also advise to read.. Read.. Read and Read somemore... you will always learn something new! I'v been reading about growing for around 3 years, only been growing for about a year though and I'm still learning (I will never claim to know it all either because there is far to much to know!)
Good luck to you dude, I hope they pull through for you! :peace::joint:
temp was 16.7c and 70hum,just gave them ltr water each ph6.5. temp now 25.5c and 41hum,cant do much more only say a little prayer.thanks dude for ur help, will get it right someday,

--See I read your post and learned something about the Blue Spectrum. But, if his light isn't a new one, this could be the reason for the light yellow look. Have you ever stuck a nice healthy house plant under an HPS for a few weeks. It will turn lighter yellow. The reason for this...I dont know...I have to go read up.

---This part was not meant to be mean, but he really isn't learning anything from this grow except frustration and confusion. He can try and keep them and they may pull through, or they might not. But those plants are 5 weeks old. I could germinate new plants and get to this stage in less then 1 week. I just think that starting over with some healthy plants and a lesson about nutes will ensure a healthy grow from beginning to end. Don't get me wrong, Im only an amateur but every grow I learn more and more, and read more and more, then try and help others.

lol, your talking about the leaves being bleached by the HPS, Yeh, I've seen it happen..(I personally use a CFL for the 1st 4 weeks, seedling stage and early veg) But if the guy in the shop says "You can use it for the whole grow" I would guess that he has a new HPS..
I'v never tried growing any other type of plant, learning to grow 1 type (with several 100 strains) is time consuming enough! ;) lol

I do get what your saying, I could do the same... but if this is all he has and he has to wait for seeds, then he's gotta roll with it for now, as I said earlier, I'v seen worse that have pulled through and produced a nice end product?!

sounds ok, try to raise the humidity a little more... I'v run with 50% through a whole grow without problems.. But if thats your temps with lights off.. sweet.. try and keep your temps similer during lights on aswell if you can.. try not to let it go over 30oC... Also dude, 1 thing I did forget, was how far away are your lights from the plants? I would say keep your lights at around 3 to 4 foot away from the tops until new growth starts showing then drop it by an inch a day until your about 2 foot away... then raise them by an inch as and when required (when your plants get bigger)
Good luck man, let us know how they get on.. I don't like to see sad plants! :weed:

Did you flush the soil thoroughly before using it? are the pots too big/ small for the roots that had already developed? 1 litre of water each plant? sound like a lot, try 100 200 ml of water without nutes or very low dosage. when the lights are out run a humidifier close to your intake & also spray both sides of the leaves with ph'd water a lot of people say wait for the soil to dry before watering again, i havent had success in the past using that technique, I found that the smaller the pot the faster it dries and the more frequently it will need to be watered. water around the entire pot not just the middle, pour the water slowly and allow it to be soaked up, you may need to pour the water that collects underneath the pot in the tray back into the pot a couple of times to be effective.
