I finally switched over to the 2700k bulbs. So the 12/12 should be perfect now. I've noticed that Abby and Aysel have some side growth coming in! I topped them all the other day, so I am waiting to see the rest of the plant start coming up.
Also, I've been working on a Hydroponic set up. Not quite for the PC but an experiment none the less. Anyone got any suggestions? Make note, that this set up is for my clones. I took a clone from one of my other plants, Apple, in hopes to put her in my DWC. I know I need to cover the clear plastic with something, but I just took the clone tonight, so I don't need the system until the roots start to come out.

I've considered a mini hydro set up for a PC grow. But I would really have to make it less than 5 inches deep. I guess instead of a DWC (Deep Water Culture) It would be SWC (Shallow Water Culture). Then set a SCOG right below the lights. I believe it might work out well. Some in put would be nice!

CrazyTrain: Have you considered a SWC for you set up? I think it might be a cool Idea to mess with! bongsmilie

hey tg,

the case i bought came with a hydro tub, air pump lines and a stone. the stone is a cheap small one that i have thought bout replacing for a bigger one. its the case on ebay for 255$.

This may be a little off topic but, this question is for you Spoon420. I saw that you grew some blue himalaya from short stuff seeds. How many weeks did it take from seed to harvest on those blue himalayas? Also, about how many germinated out of the ten?
HI-JACKER!!!! bongsmilie

hey i have an idea for you to grow in that pc, a pretty nice-yielding plant.

imma do it at some point, already built the box, still figuring out if to use a single big CFL. or a few smaller ones.

anyways.

here's my idea for the actual plant, it's probably gonna work. i gotta do this in a PC cause i live in a tiny apt. and the box i've been using really isn't as stealthy as I wanted.

for growing medium imma go with foxfarm ocean forest and fox farm potting mix at a 3:1 ratio.

it's gonna be mixed and put inside a 2L bottle of soda. the bottle has to be painted black so no light goes to the roots. i chose the bottle because it holds almost half a gallon, allowing more plant to grow. and it's long and relatively thin.

using a metal clothes hanger, or any other thing i find lying around, i will glue some hooks through the bottle, about 4 inches high a piece. the bottle also needs for small holes to pour water into the soil. by putting 4-5 holes in the bottle, and moving where i water further and further down the bottle, the roots will get stimulated to grow further down, creating a stronger, bigger plant (hopefully)

the bottle goes on it's side with a small hole on the side where the cap would go, but on the top where it's round. hooks facing up.

the seed will be germed in a paper towel, and the seedling put in the soil on through the hole.

timing will be 18/6. as the seedling grows, i will take the main stem of the plant and bend it under the hooks. to do this i have to slightly over water it so it gets nice and soft, so bending without snapping is possible.

when the plant reaches the final hook, 12/12 begins. the bud will grow up towards the light.

here's an ugly "pic" of my idea. it's about as high quality as a kindergardener's first attempt at coloring. the "circles" are where the watering will happen. this plant will prob. have less than a 20 day veg. so the first hole is for the first 3 days, the second one for the following three, and so on.... roots naturally grow towards they find more water, so the plan should work.

if you're able to try this out before me, i urge you to, i want to see if it works.... imma start in about 2 weeks....

oh ok i see what ur saying..the seedling is going to be coming out of the bottle cap but ur goin to LST the shit out of it and get it to grow all the way to the other side of the box...not bad...not bad at all...sounds like it could possibly work...i already have mine going in my box but my next grow i might try this out...i also have a scrog screen my my box so it much easier for me to grow horizontal !

not out of the bottle cap. the cap stays on. out of the side. i have it cut out already but i can't find my damn camera....

let me see if i can illustrate it better

ok, this ones slightly better. very phallic though....

it looks like a fat dick, but yeah, it's supposed to be a 2L soft drink bottle. the whole where the plant is gonna come out from will be about two inches in diameter...... and its cut out of that part of the bottle, using a knife, DUH!!!

and i left out the hooks n shit this time, but i hope this gives you a better idea of what i'm going for....

That's not a bad idea at all! It seems like it would work out well! I've really been considering doing two small DWC's in my box. Both from Coffee cans, the plastic ones. LST, and SCOGing. Would be amazing!!

man thats a good idea bout the coffee cans. just run 2 lines off a good pump into em. that would be interesting to see.. and take up less room and let more air flow move round instead of using one rectangle rubbermaid.

It would work a lot better than just using one big container. Having two small plastic coffee cans would really work! I'll draw out the idea I am crunching in my head, and post it for you's guys to copy paste from!

damn...lol i we should all do the same thing and compare grows!
I dare to compare!!! We should try it, I have one coffee can as of right now, but i can acquire me another one soon, and that will be when I'll be ready!!

--------------------------------------------------------------

I've been considering taking a clone from one of the plants I top, and drop it in a (S)WC, then putting it in my PC case. It would be amazing!! Does anyone believe it would be hard to have more than one plant growing in there, both coming being DWC? I've read they can become monsters!!!! I don't want my plants to be crammed!!

Im also wondering if two plants (lowryders) will be to much in a cabinet like that.. Im doing exactly what your doing, well im GOING to soon.. just have to order some stuff..

Planning on growing two lowryders at a time in a pc case a similar size to yours, aslo going to go with scrog and dwc. Im thinking if it gets to crowded, ill just trough one out or give it to a friend.

Any strains you recommend for small grows like this, except for lowryders? Thinking of a low height, quick seed to harvest and an ok yield.
