So I have decided to experiment with a DWC. It seems to work for a lot of people, Why not me?

This set up is for my clones, because I have some 5 gallon buckets for the flowering ones that I plan to set up soon. I was wondering if I could take a clone from a jiffy cube and use that in a tiny screen pot, and grow it from there? No medium, just the jiffy and the pot. Would this work? I know it does for Aeroponics but I'm not sure about this one?

If not, I have peat moss, and perlite as my only source of a medium right now, So I am trying to make due with what I have. I might even have some fish tank gravel lying around? Any in put would be nice. Thanks! :bigjoint:

If it is clean, doesn't leach anything into the water and holds the cube in place in the netpotit will work.

Both of your set ups look great. I've been considering doing two coffee pots, (plastic) DWC in my PC grow box? Just a lot of LST, and a nice screen 4-5 inches from the bulbs.. I believe it would be magical!! bongsmilie

Pretty much. You may want to throw in some hydrotrom rocks or lava rocks into your net cups simply so that the clones don't tip over. You will also want to keep your water level right at the base of the net cups so that they get water while the plants become established. Otherwise, it's as simple as 1 2 3.

The problem is, I don't have any hydroton rocks.:cuss: All i have is a jiffy cube, some gravel, perlite, and that's about it.. so I just really wanted to know if the juffy cube will work by it's self? Or should I put something around it to fill the little bit of area in the pots?

Some in put would be helpful! Thanks:joint:

Jiffy cube, like a sponge cube?

I use clay pellets, you mentioned you had fish tank gravel - if you clean it well first it should do the trick. & like the last dude said don't submerge the pot under the water fully just the base and try to keep the water level consistent. Use only water @ correct ph & replace with fresh water every week. You don't need much light for clones so don't put em under a hps or anything like that.
