Stealth PC Fans

so I got everything setup on the case, im just curious as to how i wire the fans to a cell phone charger?

ive read many people do it this way and it saves power over using a PSU

any advice/suggestion/tips would be appreciated thanks

i just cut the wire and there will be a possitive and negative wires in the one wire.. just splice them together and wallah you got your stealthy pc fan...

ya thanks i got it up and running, but another quick question.... does anybody know how many fans you can hook up to a single cell phone charger without overdueing it??

depends on the amps that the fans require and the amps that the adapter can give them....just because it works, doesn't mean that it is safe, so put an extra 10 minutes into the design because it would suck to burn your house down with shotty wiring on some shitty little fans

Look at the output on the charger and see what it's amps are. You can run 12volt fans on chargers that say lower volts but not the other way around. As for how many, its all about the amps. The only thing that could be tricky is converting mA to just A but you can use google to figure that out. The point is, I have a charger with 1.7 Amps for output, and I run 4 fans off of it. One is 480mA (.48A) and the other three are each 180mA ( .18A). SO those four fans don't add up to 1.7Amps so Im not exceeding what the charger can do. Also, you have to wire them in parallel, not in series, or you will lose power on each one.
