I live in an apt. my grow room is hooked in to a 15 amp breaker... what watt light would I be able to run here? Keep in mind I will have a fan also but not much else I'm using soil.

hps lights are about 4 amps for a 600w and 8 or 9 amps for a 1000w. add that with the amount of amps your fan uses , hopefully i will be less than 15.

watts / volts = amps

You only want to use 80% of rated amperage so

15 * .8 = 12 amps to use safely

400 / 120 = 3.33

600 /120 = 5

1000 /120 = 8.3

An Example

400 watt hps
100 watt Fan Exhaust
30 watt circulating Fan
15 watt timer

545 /120 = 4.54

Then you need to determine what else is on the circuit.

sometimes I think its easier to add the wattages of equipment to find the load. 15 amp should have no more than 1440 watts through it at any time.

15 amp is the max load 13 is the amperage u can use on a consistent load u can bare on that circuit.
