Well I can say I just shed a few tears of joy... After re-doing the freon today, I've ran the room with A/C for about 4 hours and am able to fully control the temperature. And can have it as low as 65 degrees with all 4 lights running. gotta patch a few holes and what not tomorrow... but its going to be an eventful weekend... THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELPED :)

Woohoo!! good on ya bro, im happy to hear;-)

So... I got to adopt some friends today :).

After some discussion on here and amongst some friends It was decided that I'd either need a 2nd res to run the whole room off of or I'd need to get 1 res per tray.

When I went to pick up my clones it was even easier to make that decision...

The new plan is 3 trays, 3 strains & 3 seperate res for each. So far I've got the 1 large tray and 1 of the smaller trays covered. I still need to pick my 3rd strain and soon! :)

In my large 4'x8' tray I'll have 18 Green Crack clones (indica/sativa hybrid with a 8 week flowering time)... in the first of the two 4'x4' trays I will have 9 Sour Diesel clones (indica/sative hybrid with a 9-10 week flowering time). Hopefully over the next few days I'll find whats going in the other 4'x4'

Since it appeared that the clones were only being fed filtered water when I got them, I'm starting them on a weak ppm of 250 & ph 5.7 w/ all the nutrients in the pic below. I'm going to veg them under 1000w MH on 24 hour cycle till the roots take a little more, then I'll slowly switch them to 18/6 for the rest of their veg period.

I also picked up a clone of some Pre-98 Bubba which I plan to make a mom plant of along with 1 of each of the other clones that I kept.

These clones werent under the greatest care when I got them, so hopefully I'll be able to bring them back to life

Looking really clean and organized nice job Mitus, I love those square cut-outs for the cubes but they are so expensive in large amounts so I cut my own out of black & white poly...

right on man.. I figured it was just a charging problem sounded like you where just short cycling that compressor.. glad its all under control, remember man.. I am serious if you have any problems PM me.. I like the challenge of trouble shooting from a remote location via computers haha

So as I stated before, I started out feeding the clones at about 250 ppm. After a day or so I noticed the leaves starting to become light colored and begining to droop. My friend insists that I'm not feeding them strong enough feed so we bumped it up to 500. The leaves on the Sour D seem like they are drooping even harder now.

Any suggestions? Im running 24 hour light now, should I cut it down to 18/6?
Is the ppm for well rooted clones too high or too low in your opinion?

so you are giving them 500ppm of c02? if so why run c02 now with 24 hour of light in the veg cycle? I would kick it back to 18/6 for veg to cut down on power ad let the girls sleep

not using CO2 atm. Should I be? I was speaking in terms of Nutrient PPMs. Yes, I think I'll switch to 18/6 today.

So its been 4 days with the clones now and they're not doing well at all. The 2nd day they started to droop a lot and I was advised that this may be due to me not feeding them strong enough nutrients... so I doubled my ppms from 250 to 500. Still no change and I could really use some good advise here...

Are your clones rooted yet? I've read that you don't give nutrients until good feeder roots appear. Believe me I've had my own struggles with clones... If they aren't in a humidity dome you should spray them twice a day to keep them moist, no roots = no water absorption. If they are in a humidity dome, make sure it's vented or open it a couple of times a day to keep fresh air moving.

Also if your mother plant has excess N it actually impedes root development, hence why products like "Mother Plant" exist with lower N.

18/6 is fine, but 24/0 apparently has the higest success rate for clones. Also if you can keep the substrate temp around 75 and the air temp around 70 you should have perfect circumstances. The other challenge is keeping the rockwool moist, but not too moist. If it's to dry or too wet the clone will fail to root.

Good luck hope something I said helped you out.

Here's a little quid pro quo for ya - let's solve this clone issue first, and then you can scratch my back.

1) Do the clones have roots showing yet?

2) If so, what lights are they under - 1K or some fluoros?

3) How many times a day are you flooding?

Without you answering those questions, my first (and I'm pretty darn sure it's correct) guess is that you're overwatering them - clones that size should be getting watered about once every 24 hours - guessing you're more in the 3-5 waterings per day mode? Back off of that and you'll be fine.

Now, to my questions for you, my good man........

Firstly, in your professional opinion, could your 12000BTU portable AC (your old one) handle an 8x8 tent with 2 uncooled 1000HPS? Asking because my garage gets up to ~110F in summer, so running a sealed tent is my only option, but I don't know if 14000BTUs (the portable I'm planning on getting) would be enough for 2 uncooled 1Ks, especially with the ambient air around them so hot.

Secondly, could you take some more pics of your split A/C? I'd really like to have one AC cool the entire garage (20x10), because putting a portable AC in each tent will get costly and exhaust my 60 amps real quick.

That being said, what does a split AC look like? Mainly from the outside, as I could care less about the inside, but for security reasons the outside would have to be fairly nondescript.

Thanks for your time, and don't water your plants so damn much ;-)

I have only been watering them once a day, but it does seem like their retaining a lot of liquid.
They clones were rooted in 1"x1" plugs when I got them on saturday and I put them in larger rock wool cubes till I move them to their final destination.
I'm currently Veg'ing under 1000w MH. It was on 24 hours, but has now been on 18/6 for 2 days.

The Sour D, look like their about to bite the dust, however the Green Crack clones still look like they're gonna make it... Fingers Crossed!!

I'd say the portable A/C would not be able to take 110 degrees. Instead of using a tent in your garage, I might suggest building a "room inside a room" so to speak. toss up a frame and slap some drywall on it. That way, if you wanted to do split A/C, you could possibly keep the external unit inside of your garage if you needed to hide it. I have mine outside in plain site to be honest, but I notice several houses in the area that have similar units for their intended use so it doesnt sand out too much.
Installing the split A/C is no easy task... you will need a professional with the proper tools to help you...

Its been a while since I've kept a mom plant, but it seems like it may end up being my only option... Whenever I get clones from some where else, there is ALWAYS problems... whenever I make my own clones i have damn near 100% success rate...
I guess that means more shopping and more work... I'll keep you guys updated

Of the 11 Sour D that I have, I'd say their about half & half as far as which ones look like they could make it. Many of they still are very droopy.
The Green Crack however still seem to be getting better and better. They were kind of scraggly looking cuts when I got them so it will take a week or two for them too look like anything lol... but I can safely say I think they are looking a lot better.
The one Pre-98 Bubba clone still looks questionable, but we'll see how it is in a few days.
Yesterday I had a fellow patient donate a mother plant to me thats already been veg'd for about a month. The strain is Sour OG (a cross between OG kush and Sour Diesel). It'll take me a few days to get the nutrients right and for the poor thing to feel at home... it had a stressful trip here shoved in a trash bag in the trunk... pics to come later

To recap and share where I've made changes... I changed the light cycle from 24/0 to 18/6 two days ago. I'm making sure to only water them once within a 24 hour period as to not over water the cubes. I've started misting the clones with RO water a few times a day, as of yesterday.
As I said there are still quite a few of the lil fukers that look like they might not make it... but i have to say thank you to all the guys that posted up their helpful suggestions.

Mitus, a couple of things:

1) I'd back the light off pretty good from them - if they're sickly they can't use that strong of a light anyways, and it will most likely just add to their (your) problems.

2) I'd wait to water until the rockwool got sufficiently dry - I'd imagine in cubes that large and with as weak of a root system as they have, that even once a day might still be too much at this point - just monitor the rockwool, and when it starts to get dry, that's when you need to water.

Just my $.02.

stop misting. your over watering the chicks. newly rooted clone in a large saturated rockwool cube should be able to good 4days without water. thats why they are drooping. over watered

there is nothing wrong with misting twice a day so long as your rw isn't soaked. Having the medium slightly dry will promote root grow while misting provides the water they need now. If you stop misting u get 0 water without roots. my 2 c.

i agree. but in this case his plant are over watered. so no need for misting.
