Religion produces nut jobs.... I don't pick favorites in that regard.

I condone no terrorism. Wanna fight? Put on a uniform, get organized and play ur hand. Like the big boys do...
Of course the argument from the other side is that they can't possibly stand up to the "Great Satan" :fire:with all of her military might. They have to blow up innocent civilians, women and children. It's the only way anybody pays attention to their wittle plight.:-(

Yah, and both sides of that coin reflect religion ...

I always figure that any religious "extremist" is a very desperate/insecure person, mixed with a special gullibility. Pick a faith and find the extremist, and the same pattern will emerge.

Maybe not the same kind of desperation/insecurities, there are many forms, but the high level of it will be apparent.

True, which is why we're seeing a bunch of extremists coming from Yemen. Lack of education, money and possiblities=a recipe for disaster!:joint::peace:

That plane bomber was recruited in London by Al Queda.
Right, but he received training and the PETN in Yemen. And how many detainees have we captured that hail from this poorest of Arabian countries? I don't know the exact # but I'm told it's quite a few. :leaf:

Maybe, but he comes from money and was a student..... his desperation/insecurity wasn't poverty.
Which begs the question, why are we seeing that sort of thing? Like many of the 9/11 hijackers were from good families and were educated. I think video games and television are to blame. j/k.

heheheh, if that were true, the US kids would have killed us all by now

I think U have to be a very lonely person on the inside to get that taken in. That has no economic boundaries. i've seen it in the poor, and the wealthy.

Happiness comes from within. No amount of money can make up for it. If you don't have it already, you can't buy it.

Nobody expects to be killed for going to work, or going to a medical facility. That's not the USA I want to live in, but unfortunately, I do.

Those extreme christians and islamics have a lot in common. Neither copes well when society questions their belief systems.

If Obama came out and stripped the church's of their tax shelters and such ... what do you think would happen? Where would it end up?

It's not which type of religion is the danger, they all are. As long as it is taught to be the TRUTH (and it is), we will have religious nutjobs willing to kill innocent ppl in the name of their G*D.

It's a frightful beast we have conjured upon ourselves. We have done this to ourselves.
Murders

In the U.S., violence directed toward abortion providers has killed at least eight people, including four doctors, two clinic employees, a security guard, and a clinic escort.[5]

so you think religions, mainly christians are as dangerous as bloods? crips? mexican mafia?

10 incidents in the last 17 years? thats like saying people who eat fast food love to shoot up the place. after all, somebody shoots one up about once a week.

there is only one religion that activley seeks to kill people, muslim jihadists.

how bout we focus on a religion that is currently trying to promote killing and stop bashing an entire religious population because you hate them. its your right to hate them. its not your right to discriminate against them.

and even though you say that they believe in fantasy, you have no proof either way and are only stating your opinion. their opinion is different than yours. maybe just a little tolerance instead of preaching your beliefs as gospel?....pun intended. it takes as much a leap of faith on your part to think this planet is just a mere stroke of physical luck, than to think there may be something greater than yourself.

most religious people from all major religions are just trying to live an honest life and treat people with respect...you know, the golden rule.

Fucking laughable dude! Laughable. Throughout history, christians and muslims are responsible for so much murder and predatory practices. In this regard, Christians take the cake buddy.

Presently, all is calm on the Christian front, and that fact alone speaks volumes, but speak with caution when making blanket generalizations.

if you would like to discuss the happenings of hundreds of years ago, we could do that. i prefer to focus on today, because its the only time period i can effect.

really not interested in your opinion cuz its generally stupid and not well thought out. i was interested in hearing from CJ and Doc....but thanks for playing.

oh, plus you are a fucking bigot and you probably are a racist just like your leader bubba "fetch my coffee" clinton, harry "the negro" reid and joe "he is a clean black guy" biden....

Gangs, mafia, etc. do not belong in the same category as Crazy Christians.

gangs seek MONEY. Their crime is economic.

Crazed Christians & Islamics are not robbing folks, they are killing innocents to bring about a social change.

Abortion was legalized by the Supreme Court. Not something I agree with, but that's the law, like it or not.

Killing innocent ppl and trying to terrorize women in a difficult situation already (for no monetary gain) is not like the mafia.

It's terrorism, pure and simple. It's not a contest and the degree of the terrorism is irrelevant.

It's terrorism.

nice change of subject CJ.

i never said it wasnt terrorism. you are fucking right it is, 100%.

but as for the christian end of it, its a nutcase. he is a christian cuz thats what he learned, probably while growing up. if he would have learned atheism he still would have flipped, he just would have flipped on something else. if he was taught to be a tree hugger he might have blown up an suv. bottom line is he did it cuz he was a nutjob, not because he was christian.

ON THE OTHER HAND the other religion you mention, teaches this stuff in school. and not just in radical nutcase schools. in mainstream public schools. that religion begins with an M and ends in a N. i didnt write out the whole word in fear i might offend the jihad apologists on here.

get it?

I really don't think it is fair to judge it by degrees.

Of course 10 incidents over 17 years (ur #'s) isn't that much, but it's still wrong.

There is a difference in severity between say Al Queda, and John Fundy baptist, but both are wrong for the same reason.

I've posted something similar today, and that's why I threw in the terrorist twist.

Let me posit you this.... how crazy do you think Christians can be? Have we seen all there is? What if Obama came out and stripped all the church's of their shelters and NPO's? How crazy do you think the church would whip up it's adherents?

What do you think?

being as that would be viewed as a war on christianity, they would definitely go bonkers....with good reason.

about the same as you would take it if the govt walked into your favorite charity and kicked it down. at least thats the way you should react.

would they start shooting people? dont think so.

my numbers came from wiki. i assume they are accurate....maybe wrongly

I personally would vote for that to change.

The idea that the church runs as a true NPO is ludicrous. It''s a business, pure and true.

while there are some very large churches raking in millions...aaaa like obama and rev wrights church, most churches are a handfull of people just trying to keep the heat on and make some good in the community. the preacher draws a very modest salary and his house is sometimes paid for but the vast majority are not rich by any measure.

the huge churches where hundreds of people are getting paid, i agree with you.

the vast majority of churches i disagree.

I think that christianity has gotten its act together over the past few centuries. Islam on the other hand is still living in the dark ages. It appears that they have no desire to modernize. Look at how muslims treat women. It's deplorable! Are both religions responsible for lots of killing? Of course but who's doing the majority of it now? Those guys who strap bombs to themselves and blow up discos or coffee shops or crowded marketplaces obviously believe in their cause or they wouldn't be doing shit like that. The abortion clinic bombers firmly believe they are doing right in the eyes of god as well. I don't think there are too many organized groups going around preaching to kill abortion doctors or bomb clinics though. I could be wrong but that's only because I don't see anybody reporting on these groups if they exist. If there are we need to do something about it and the media should be ashamed for not reporting it. :bigjoint:

I just think that the 'christians' here happen to be living in a much better place.

That and it is easy to attach religious phobias onto the 'islamic' nutjobs.

These people may be using religious rhetoric, but I am sure we used it during the revolution, and people did in the civil war.

But we realize that one doesn't equal the other with christianity (because we all have seen it and realize most people in it are very nice). That and everytime someone yells 'go to hell' we realize that it is not a religious prayer, it is more a saying. Nor catholics that cross themselves when they do something dangerous are doing that because they are christians and that happens to be the last thing they do.

Like the fact they say 'death to (insert any word here)' in Iran, we don't literally mean "God bless you" when someone sneezes.
