so where can one get a carbon filter from and how do you set it up? Is it an actual filter system you can buy or is it a home made system with parts pick up at Home Depot??
ps. Im new here and will be growing 1 or 2 plants in my apt. closet so smell is a HUGE concern for me.

OK, first of all, a HUGE thank you (and a BJ from my sister) to Nongreenthumb (ganja god) for turning me on to this. I'm getting the round ball Ionizer. Be patient and you'll get it dirt cheap unless you get in a bidding war with yer buds here. They have a bunch of these things and you can get them for the starting price (unless you screw each other, LOL). Remember, they have plenty. you can get a carbon filter from any hydro store. you can either put in the grow room and suck all the air through and out your exhaust (very stealthy) or put it at the end of your exhaust on the outside of your room (very efficient). It is an actual filter than uses activated carbon to attract and absorb odors.
there are also homemade versions on this and other sites.

I'm using a carbon filter but I'm having to go to two rooms now for my grow (still not but a few plants) but he is using this gadget and has been for quite awhile and says it completely removes all the odors. I'm not going to tell you how many plants he grows at one time; he can tell that if he wants but if it works for him it's a slam dunk for me. I've got a similar one (until it quit working) that worked the same way and I paid $450 for it. I makes the house smell like a swimming pool sort of. No matter how bad the odor was it would get it out - pronto.

BTW i Got 2 of those balls as well...they're awesome. The room smells like lemons now.
The only issue is that if you let fresh air in....you do have to let those little things negatively charge the air again to get it working...
