Maybe human mental innovation had the byproduct in the concept of god, in this case imagination, but not scientific or technological innovation. Most technological advancements where at least frowned upon by the establishments claiming to be of said god.

do u have evidence, proof, dcouments, witnesses, affidavits, scriptures, newspaper articles, tv promos krusty? bc u kno if you dont have them readily accessible and spend the time to save them and cut n paste them to this post....well, then, u must be lying.....

Granted, without some level of intelligence the idea of god could not have come about.

You did hit the nail on the head when you said "necessity breeds innovation". Living in a naturist type civilisation would surely take away the necessity for advancement as the land provides what you require and wish. Where as the civilisation's we live in the western worlds biggest advancements in technology have come about in times of war. So all that fighting we have done has not hindered technological advancement but rather advanced it greatly through necessity.

Maybe eco-technology driven societies could have gotten there in the end but I really cant see that they could have done it at the pace we have.

no doubt about that!!! i think that even if we had followed a "greener" way of life......well.....violence and greed are still a natural human phenomenon.........maybe we'd just be killing eachother "in the name of the Oak trees!":wall::bigjoint:


Krust: have you read Jared Diamond? i think you might find his book "Guns Germs and Steel" as fascinating as i did.......beware: he can be a bit dry at times......
