does moving from 12/12 to 14/10 really help?

i'm due harvesting within the next two weeks or so and i've been reading that some people reckon that moving from 12/12 to 14/10 makes the plant throw a little more effort at finishing and therefore bulking the buds up. anyone got any opinions or experience on this?:leaf:

I've read somewhere on here about switching to a 21 hr cycle with still 12 hrs dark. Just adds a few days through grow. I think they did it mid flower and finished off 12/12 though. I wouldn't do it. Too much risk with little reward at this point imo.

I tried do exactly that and two of my plants turned into hermies. Luckily I caught them fast enough.

I'd be very careful.

In the last couple weeks of flowering it is "acceptable" to increase the light cycle. It makes the plants think the end of their life is very near (aka seasons changing days going longer) so they put out their last little "umph" to produce slightly more. It also "cooks" the THC and increases the potency by just a bit. When a plant tries to go hermie from light stress its a survival instinct. I've done a few grows increasing the light cycle but I never heard giving em 14 hours light. Increase the light by 30 min to an hour if any. I personally dont go higher then 30 min extra, the THC seeds video covers this at the end and thats where I got the idea to try it. Does it work? I couldn't tell ya cause you never really know unless you have multiple grow rooms with the exact same equipment and the same strains and do a controlled experiment. But I can say I always end up with some kick ass smoke :bigjoint:

Yeah 72 hours darkness before harvest is supposed to really increase its resin production. I could never wait the 72 hours to try it out, I always get way to excited lmao
