Plan on getting a 4 inch exhaust fan with carbon filter (170 cfm)
Want to try scrog method... I'm a noob so i may fuck this up!!!!
Has anyone ordered with HTG????
TOO MANY FUCKING QUESTIONS I KNOW
???? Could anyone suggest a GOOD fem strain that's somewhat exotic for a beginner, one that will endure my fuckups.. also a reliable seed bank ...I'm hoping for an Indica dominate strain due to my height. I'd love yield but not entirely important. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!!!

400W is a lot of light for 2x4 footprint, I suspect that you will need at least 2 fans. You will need one to cool the lamp and another to vent the box and run the filter. If you intend the one fan to do all of that you are going to need a bigger fan. As far as the light goes, that internal ballast is going to dump additional heat in the box, more fan. I have not bought from HTG but, there are many people here who have and have good reviews. I would not hesitate to buy from them and my next light upgrade will come from them. I have had good luck with Nirvana but, you will read mixed reviews here. Most recently two strains, 8 of 9 germinated and remain viable 3 weeks into the grow. I would consider Northern light, you will get many options here from others if they reply. This just one mans opinion, take it for what it's worth. Please feel free to fuck it up, most of us have and misery loves company. Good luck with your grow and Happy New Year.

Thanks so much for you reply...Im a little weary of grabbing that hps.. i was also considering staying with flouro's maybe getting a t5 set up or just adding more cfls to what i have ....they are a pain in the ass though.. any suggestions on what size fan if i only used one i plant on an exhaust and box fan in the room...

I use a 2 foot four bulb t5 in a 2x2 tent and it works fine very few cooling issues. I suspect that a 4' 4 bulb would be good for you and keep using the CFL's after the plants have a little growth on them. If you are married to HPS I would be looking in the 400-450 CFM range on the fan.

interesting....that maybe cheaper than buying two fans?? also im not married to the hps.. but i want dense buds ... and a great yeild. whatever strain i get i'm def going to veg with cfls they did GREAT for me the last time.
I did find some strains i was interested in.. if anyone follows this post and can give me feedback whether it's a bad or good idea ...it'd be sweet!!
BLZ Bud (seedisim)
Snow White, Papaya, or Wonder woman (nirvana)
Wappa (reserva pravada)
Blueberry Skunk (flying dutchman)
I'm a noob so if any of these would be too difficult i'd love to know:fire:

I grew very successfully with about 50W / SF of T5HOs in a 2x2x4.5 grow tent. If you only have 5 feet of working height, T5HOs give you another foot of usable space over HIDs.

That said, I would recommend DNA's fem LA confidential for a nice short indica with very high quality, relatively short flowering, easy to grow. Yeild is about what you might expect for a short plant, but if you vege for longer, you'll get more.

OK, lets do the math. Start with 5 feet, figure about a foot for the pot, down to 4 feet, if you use HID about another foot for the lights, filter and hangers, 3 feet left. If you with HID another 1-1.5 between the lamp and the plants and you are down to 1.5-2 feet remaining. I have not grown this plant but, understand about 4 feet at maturity if not manipulated.

just dont veg that long, you will get some fire if you go with this strain
I wanted to go with the Blueberry Skunk but i was weary because of my inexperience to go with a tall plant..or sativa dominant. I have two bagseed sativa growing right now and they are a handful to say the least (mostly because i'm a novice) I did make a purchase though and grabbed up some
Crimea Blue (Barney's) and took a shot on a cheap strain Creamy Caramel (sweet seeds) also got some DNA fem freebies. L.A. Woman and Hash Plant Haze
any info on these strains would deserve much appreciation:clap:
