I am going to set up more lights.. My area is 13' x 5'1/2".. so if I use air cooled lights on a mover and concidering That I can run the 600w closer to the canopy, would 3 600w be better and cheaper to run than using the two 1000w on the mover? PEACE

Well I'd have to say 1800 watts of 600's compared t0 2 1000's that it would use less energy. I love my 600's. I'd rather use lots of 600's than 1000's.

600 have a better watt to power ratio and heat is less of an issue and culd get you closer id go with the 600watters u can always up grade after harvest .

I would go with 1000's, better penetration and larger footprint. But even then 2 is not enough for a 13' x 5'1/2" space, each 1000 will cover a 4x4 space.

bigger foot print maybe for the 1000watt but you get even less light cause you have to get them farther away. the foot print of 3 600s give more lights and closer to can bumps up foot print a lil makes sence to me lol but im blasted stoned

all day 1ks take my word for it, dont get me wrong though my 600 did some wonders for me last crop, i have a room just a bit bigger than yours and i got 6 1ks and 1 600 which is being switched to a 1000, i am using 4 lights over my girls with 2 lights with no reflector as side lighting look into it and im sure you will be more than satisfied. BTW the area you have should be at least 4 1ks

Why not 3x1000w. The price for 600's are the same as 1000's. You'll yield more. Efficiecy??? I'll trade you an extra half a P over the $30mo savings.

Yield fixes all.

Use those three 600 watters, and you'll be able to cover the 13' length of the room, without a light mover.(with a well designed hood) The 5 1/2' width is pushing it a little, but if you keep the main tops at least 6 inches away from the walls, you should have a pretty nice setup. And a light rail will only help matters.

Being close to the canopy is something the 600 and under club is concerned with. The reason is you are not running enough power. This discussion goes on and on. Look at commercial grows. They use 1000 watters 4-5ft above the canopy to get a better spread. You cannot do this in the same manner wit 600's and 400's even more so.

1000 = more power = more yield. All things being equal more power is better. If your room is too hot you are not set up properly.

Do you want an extra half a P or an extra P? Or do you want to save $40mo on utilities. This shouldn't even be a discussion. I choose more density and higher yields.

If you are going to buy three lights buy three 1000's and produce more buds.

Also, many with 1000's do not raise or lower their lights. Many are permantly mounted 5ft above their tray.

i use a light mover and wouldnt use any less than 1000w, no comparison for me, but I only use one 1000w on a light mover over 40 plants. I also use liquid cooled lights to keep heat out of grow room. maybe 3-600 would be better, but cost are 150% more because you have to buy 3 light movers, extra fan for cooling an extra light, and extra ballast and bulb, and your still not getting the same lumens, I dont think. I can let my liquid cooled light touch my plants and I get no burn, but I keep it about 18 inches away
