Bad set up dude. You have the wrong type bulb in there. Soft white is for flowering stage. you're in the Veg stage and need a "daylight bulb" not "soft-white". That's why your plants are stretching big time...they need more light big time. Hurry and go to Wal-Mart now.

you need more light... obviously a budget build so I'm not going to do what everyone else does and say get a HPS

but i am going to say go get more bulbs... 6500K for veg... 2700K for flower.. and more of them

You need a light like this......with a BLUE tinge (Daylight-5000-65000K). Your light has a warm tinge to it which is only good for flowering.

when you get answers could you let me know? thanks because thats what mine almost looks like
there stretching they need more light, most people do a 18/6 veg cycle and 12/12 flower or 12/12 from seed. you really lost me with ur lighting schedule :-?:weed:

and yes ur lighting schedule is fucked dude, no offense. those babies need 24 HOUR LIGHT. don't turn the lights out at all!!!!!!

Like buddy said above...you can get an emergency blanket at Wal-Mart too in the camping section...it looks like shiny metal. You gotta lose that light asap and get some better wall covering. I would go right now.

hold on... what are you doing with the light cycle
why on off twice a day... on at one time.. off at another... 18 hours on 6 off... 20 on 4 off... 24 on
not one for a few hours... off again.. on again... off again...

did the earth start rotating faster or something... one light cycle per day

and you didn't put pm at all... just am

on at 4 am off at 10 pm

try that

people crack me up on riu these days.. that light is plenty enough for now. its the way its placed is why its streching. cfl give light of the sides, so the side need to be on top of the plants.. i veg under 5 26 watt cfl, 15 clones in 16oz red paty cups to 12 inches then flower with dual 600 watt hps. you dont need alot of light for vegging but it has to be set up better

get a daylight bulb, 18/6 for veg... don't screw around with the timing so much

get the light closer, the daylight bulb lights a lot cooler than the softwhite, so you can get it to within an inch........ it really doesn't matter about the light too much because both fall within the maximum efficiency for photosynthesis, the daylight bulb gets you tighter nodes which equals higher yield. mixed spectrum, 2/3 daylight and 1/3 softwhite is what i go for in veg.

that tall one is abut to fall over, get it some support....

and get them closer to the plant, 1 inch or closer....

try and make it some sort of container so that light doesn't escape...

and make sure you get the PH right, get the testing drops or a ph meter, it's very very important in indoor growing... peace

do those containers you got your pots sitting in have water in them ?? if so get em out - your plants will rot , especially with the compressed cardboard pots you got - they will wick the
water up constantly ......

Okay so what im hearing is:
-The light is wrong. (That's the brightest they had at home depot) (Brightest day light was 23 Watt)
-I heard if you put a extra hour in between the dark it will produce more females. Wrong? (Ill change to 18 - 6)
-SHOULD I GO RETURN THE 42 WATT AND ONLY GET A 23 WATT DAYLIGHT?
