Teach ur children to think for themselves. Keep them out of church until they are old enough to decide for themselves. Then give them a Bible to peruse and inform them that this is what tons of ppl think is true.

Stand back and wait for the laughter.

I was given one to read when I was six or seven (just a Children's bible, not the full thing) and the idea that other families were going to church on Sunday to worship that stuff gave me the creeps.

Of course it wasn't presented to me as true. Just as more reading material. I was obsessed with mythology from the moment I could read until the end of elementary school. :)

Sure, put out 5 books of myth and the Bible, heck the Qaran as well, ask a child to read them, and then ask them to name the 2 books which ppl consider to be absolutely true and in general practice today, and the kids would be hard pressed to identify the 2 books.

I've ALWAYS been fascinated with ancient polytheism and I find it quite fucked up that it's known as mythology. How one religion can be deemed mythology and the other not. They're all mythical it's just kinda fucked that the Ancient Greco-Roman religion is "Mythology" and Juda-Chris-Islam Trilogy isn't.

Mythology is what a religion is called once it's followers decide they value life over a brutal death arguing whose imaginary friend is the best.

Religion was just derived to instill a "right and wrong" into society. All religions basically reflect the same ideas (just dissimilar characters affected by the time of that religions birth), so to me christmas is that same thing. The gifts are just incentives for children act appropriatly through the year.

The hospice nurse told our mother that our father has only a matter of hours or days left here.
She agrees that he will soon be passing on, not away as he is sleeping peacefully sucking morphine.

Our Father stopped breathing about five minutes before this morning's birth.
In a way, we feel a sense of relief that his suffering as well as that of his caretakers, is over.
