Why are these HPS lights so cheap!?!?

The conv. bulb is hps that runs in a mh ballast. cost is around 70.00

Keep in mind any kind of brandname HPS bulb labeled specifically as a grow light is going to cost more then a plain no brand hps.

what about plain old metal halide bulbs do they work just as well also

The issue here on the Metal Halide, is that I only have 4000k bulbs... They are useless for what our common goal is. It just seems that the HPS's are my best bet..

I got a 150w HPS ballast kit, socket, and bulb for just over $50 on 1000bulbs.com I live with in driving distance from one of there warehouses so I didnt even pay shipping. I love that place

Well I ordered two of the 2100k HPS bulbs. The price was just under $30. So we'll see.
