Are you referring to a liquid or powder form of nutrients?Chemical fertilizers do not lose potency, but they absorb water from the air so they take on weight. Therefore 16 ounces camn become 18 ounces. It will still only have the strength of the original 16 ounces.
The fertilizer is fine as long as it will all dissolve. If it has formed clumps it will take longer to dissolve. Dissolving it in hot water and letting it cool is fine. If it does not all dissolve or if it forms precipitates I would replace it rather than filtering and using it.
Powder as far as the dissolve aspect. Also the part about mixing with hot water. If it is a two part liquid only heat the the part that does not contain the calcium. Soluble calcium will form calcium carbonte if it is heated. The calcium carbonate will become soluble agin aftet it cools as long as there is no phosphorus or magnesiun in that part of the fornulation. If they are present then a permanent carbonate will form. ie buffers (alkalines). Are you referring to a liquid or powder form of nutrients?
