ok...so I've been growing now for nearly a year.......almost, anyway I have tried most everything I could in search of the right set-up for my grow.
I've done ebb n flow, straight up soil, coco fiber, drip feed and hand water. Trees, sog, scrog........get it.
So I currently have a space that is 10x10x7ft and I am using 8x10 of real estate for the garden. I am running a twin 600w lumatech, evenly spaced with bare bulbs just above the canopy........................
Gone to 5gal buckets with soil, and a 54" tomato cage.................(did I spell it right Mr. Gore?lol) I am running drip irrigation, and I am liking what I see so far, hoping this is the final set-up.
Anyone got feed back on this type grow? (personal experience.) My album.......new rig....thanks. :joint: S.L.

Soil indoors FTL. You're wasting valuable time and money with that method. Outside,....sure. Indoors, go hydroponic or go home. Then again, if it's good enough for you.........*shrug*

depends on why you are growing.if you are looking for a commercial crop,go hydro,if you want the best bud possible, organic soil will win hands down.my mentor has been growing for 30+ yrs.to show me the difference,he took 8 clones from each of 2 plants, let me pick the best 4 of each & ran them hydro, the others went to soil, when done,he let me pick he best buds from the hydro & gave me some of the crappiest bud from soil. the soil won hands down. it takes a little longer and yeilds a little less but his private stash is soil.
try it yourself. take a few clones from a mother & split it between hydro & soil

rofl, i hear all the time -- in fact one of my very best friends -- has such a hardon for soil. i dont see it. i mean its easier to get started, and you dont have to know much, but once you get down the basics, all signs lead to hydro -- or my favorite, aeroponics.

but onto your grow, i like it -- i would like to have seen you tie her down though. check out my https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/276681-maple-mango-blue-mystic-pictures.html -- she was tied down and i had wondrous results. i also just posted my new grow journal, which also features plants being tied down -- https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/285186-blue-mystics-dynamite.html

good looking plants though!!

I do infact enjoy the advantages of hydro, however, I'm not currently able to run it in my flower room, as I'll have to build a raised floor to accomidate the volume I need for a res tank to feed this size garden.
I have considered doing so. I thought of just lining the underside of the raised floor with pond liner material, and presto! instant res tank! But that's a very big undertaking for me at this point and not a realistic goal in the foreseeable future.
I do however use a couple of my flood trays in the green room to turbo-veg my clones once they have taken root, then moving them to large containers with soil to flower.
Does that sound counter-productive? I get some very rapid growth this way, even though I am only running T-8 floros.....2'x4'-3bulb fixtures, with 6500k tubes. I use these for everything except for flower. I do have a 400w halide that I was using in veg, but couldn't see much advantage over my floros, though I don't get the coverage or distribution from it like the T-8's.
That being said, I have removed the halide from the green room, and am considering hanging it inbetween the two 600hps lamps in the bloomroom. Considering this is a personal use grow, would it really be worth the extra cost to burn it as a supliment or am I trying too hard? :joint: S.L.

The more light the better. Use it! Check out the new Sun Pulse 3K bulbs. They have a longevity of 40,000 hours, and have just the spectrum you need. Best of luck.
