What is the best type or brand of bulb to use for flowering?

Hi,

I have been noticing a lot of these HPS bulbs are now available with improved blue spectrum. These lights do seem much whiter than a regular HPS, but is that even needed or useful when flowering?

Specifically, what is the best bulb to use to get the best yield of really dense, dank, super sticky buds?

I've tried to find the answer, but have only found conflicting information.

For example, I read that Rosenthal did an experiment with a MH on one side of the room and a HPS on the other. It was stated that the flowering in the middle (mixed lighting) was better than that under the MH, but still not as good as that under the pure HPS.

So, is the blue even needed when flowering, or should I just stick to the normal, really yellow HPS?

Any experience you guys can share would be really appreciated, as I'm trying to get the best results I can with my new Blueberry grow.

idealy you would want a hps (red spectrum) and a mh (blue) the hps with enhance blue is trying to emulate that. its a good bulb. blue light helps a ton in flowering.

Depends on how you want to grow?

How big your area is how many plants you grow at once

if it is a medical grow and you are doing a few at a time 2 to 4 plants, then you want this bulb

http://www.growlightexpress.com/ceramic-metal-halide-bulbs-9/mastercolor-ceramic-metal-halide-250-watt-horizontal-87.html

there is a 400 watter as well but that is as big as they get (so far)

so if your doing a big grow, well ya might wanna go with HPS and MH

But nothing (so far) matches the spectrum available in a Ceramic Metal Halide :bigjoint:
